Well, isn’t it conceivable that he was simply out of his depth living in the West? That might sound like ‘heresy’ to some or a lot of people but it’s worth considering. India he knew well and could cope with, but […]

If in fact he was murdered…I guess one must be careful about this esp if somehow we might even want Osho to have been a ‘victim’, if that story somehow legitimises any grudge we might have against ‘the world’, […]

A lesson in wholeheartedness then!
But I still don’t get this:
“for me the story telling is the medium, not the debated positions…”

Sorry, I don’t understand you here. That could be construed as simple self-indulgence, ie ‘sod the topic, the arguments etc;’, I’m just out to have fun…
But SURELY you don’t mean any such thing?!!

Thanks, Martyn, that’s pretty clear.
But can you really say that apart from realising all that isn’t for you and that you see through all the rubbish etc., that you haven’t benefited one iota from being with a […]

Anywhere you’d prefer to live then, Alok?
Satan’s words come to mind from Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’, something like this:
“The Mind is its own place and can make a Heaven out of Hell and a Hell from […]

Martyn, would you mind clarifying what you mean in your middle two paragraphs, please?
The rest I get ok.

Yes, Arpana, there was much that was uncomfortable in that system, including a fair share of poor teachers, choosing, what a massively influential History teacher of mine once termed, “the last refuge of the […]

You were unlucky then, Alok. I too had a few superb teachers in the 60′s, esp in the 6th form, in fact far more inspiring and influential than any university lecturer I later came across (with just one exception).

But sure, in the sense both parties share the psychic ‘evil’ – fear/suspicion, guilt, prejudice, hatred – and see through it all in a moment, breaking free into joy, the good, it is a coming together of good and […]

But Karima, how can Goering’s young relative be bracketed with his ‘monstrous’ actions? He was responsible for the ‘evil’ he perpetrated, not her.
So it’s not accurate to say ‘good’ and ‘evil’ came together in […]

Btw, Teertha – are you the ‘real’ (excuse me!) Teertha, the one that ran the Encounter Group, aka in certain circles for a while as “Osho’s successor”, and since the demise of the Ranch as Paul Lowe?
Doubt it, but curious anyway….

Alok John: I have often thought that the average Western sannyasin has not gone from atheism or Judaism or Christianity to Osho. They have made a big detour through humanistic psychology and many of them are still stuck there. I think this is one of the reasons for the conflict with the Indian sannyasins; they [...]
