Parmartha, I only did very elementary history at school. I never took O level. But I studied British Political History to degree level at Oxford. But I do not see how you can teach the subject without imposing some values, explicit or implicit. The Roman empire in Britain is usually taught as if it was [...]

Parmartha, the judiciary is independent of the executive and sometimes gives decisions unwanted by the Government, both here and in the Us. Maybe the supreme court thought it was a waste of time as we were obviously not returning. As to history, in middle or old age, I like the subject. But I think it [...]

Interesting statement in a 1970s book by Carl Frederick on est- ”You are the Supreme Being.
…
Also notice there isn’t any right/wrong — it simply doesn’t make
SENSE to be unethical.”Think of the implications of adopting such values.

Lokesh, I doubt Osho meant that someone seriously ill should not take government sickness benefits which after all we in the UK all contribute to by taxation.

I must say I agree with Parmartha’s posts, for once! Prob one of the reasons why the gang got such light sentences was there was a deal for them to tell all in the hope it would implicate Osho. If you read some of the documents at oregonlive you get a much better feeling for [...]

Under criminal law knowing about someone’s crimes is often not a crime itself.

Lokesh, one thing people forget is that Osho regarded Sheela and all gang members as disciples. He was working on them as well. If you read some of the documents at http://www.oregonlive.com/rajneesh
the relationship with Sheela is much more complex than a CEO choosing an employee.

“Entrusted with the sacred responsibility of being Osho’s story keeper, Dr. Vasant Joshi has created a direct pathway into the life and work of Osho…. ” Osho entrusted Joshi alone to do this?? Really?? I wonder if there is anything in this book that is not in Maneesha’s (Juliet Forman) three tomes. Still, a single [...]

In reply to: alokjohn posted an update in the group Oregon State Documents: Ava’s story in two or three documents is interesting. She was a very young woman who got involved in Sheela’s crimes. ViewOverall the tone is critical.
But there is a fantastic amount of material on the site including old videos and statements from sannyasins who are still in love with Osho. I suspect the guy who created the site secretly loves Osho! -

For example, Vivek says that when she told Osho she thought Shanti B had poisoned Amrito, Osho did not believe it and said such things could not happen at the
Ranch. It seems that Osho was not such a good judge of…[Read more] -

parmartha, there are large numbers of documents on the Oregonlive.com site. I think that is where you got this from.
The documents are herehttp://www.oregonlive.com/rajneesh/index.ssf/documents.html
Maybe there should be a group discussing them all

SD, I just don’t agree with the idea that it is never possible to make a rational intelligent judgement about someone. You seem to believe that every judgement has emotional roots in the unconscious, an idea derived from Freud. Whilst I agree this does happen sometimes, I think if you have examined your unconscious enough, [...]

SD, Einstein’s statement about common sense is a witty statement, that is all. I would not use the phrase “common sense” because it can mean almost anything. Maybe one of the things Parmartha means by common sense is “Of course Osho was not poisoned in jail. The US Government would not do such a thing.” [...]

I do not think I have “deserted my individual discrimination.” I always use my intelligence. Einstein said “Common sense is the set of all beliefs acquired before the age of eighteen.”
