TO OSHO GLOBAL CONNECTIONS, PUNE AND OSHO INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION
Dear Friends,
I am writing this letter of apology to all lovers of Osho and his work. I used to be a Director of the Osho Centre in Boulder, Colorado (USA) and in 1998 as part of Osho International’s work to protect Osho’s name and to keep his work 24 karat gold we were asked to sign a Letter of Understanding (LOU) reconfirming our basic understanding and support.
Rather than listening to the reasons for this document put forward by Osho Global Connections and Osho International we decided against signing the LOU because we decided that we should be “neutral”! It seems that I did not understand that OIF protects the Osho mark for all of us involved in the work.
Instead of supporting the people doing this work we did nothing, and in doing nothing we ended up actually supporting Neelam and Keerti and Sangeet, the people most responsible for bringing a legal action against OIF in the USA against the registration of the OSHO marks related to Osho’s active meditations. These same people are also responsible for the campaign to destroy Osho’s copyright. And my support for them was in spite of the fact that by my previous dealing with Osho International I had recognised the existence of that same copyright.
Sangeet and these people convinced one of our Board members, Ma Jivan Suvarna, to join in their legal action against the Foundation and she even gave testimony against the Foundation and the Inner Circle and its members. Suvarna also joined Sangeet, a former lawyer involved in Osho’s work, on the Board of Viha Connection magazine which for years had attacked OIF at every possible turn. I did nothing about this, no objection of any kind.
At no time did I make any attempt to reach out to anyone from Global Connections or Osho International to discuss the matter. I also want to be clear that never once did OIF or Osho Global Connections ever interfere in the operation of the Boulder Centre and, on the contrary. they only offered to support us in any way they could, listing us on Osho Centre lists website under places to meditate, keeping us informed of goings on in the Pune Resort and of Osho’s work going on around the world, and inviting us to the annual centre leader’s conferences in their office in Pune. Vatayana even travelled from Pune to visit our centre on 3 separate occasions and was always available to discuss our questions we had related in relation to the operation of our centre.
In addition, as Director I supported the use of lawyers to oppose Osho International in its action to defend the Osho trademarks. By our fence sitting and by refusing to sign the LOU we forced Osho International into a legal action against the Osho Boulder Centre adding more expense and work to an already expensive and time consuming litigation.
Countless times Osho Global Connections and Osho International contacted us to explain the situation and we continually avoided these contacts and in effect kept our heads buried in the sand. And we were always warmly welcomed into the (Pune) meditation Resort in our visits. And I knew by our behaviour that we were undermining the work of the Inner Circle by our inaction, and in spite of this support we then removed all references to the trademarks and copyrights of OIF from our website – information that we had up there for years before, and in doing so threw further support to Sangeet and company.
Finally I am embarrassed to say that some 8 years later I finally got the point that OIF, and Osho Global Connections and the Inner Circle are not in any way trying to stop people from doing Osho meditations or spreading Osho’s vision. On the contrary, as anyone who has walked into almost any bookstore can see. Never have Osho publications been more available in the world than now. And these people who we failed to support when they needed our support, work round the clock to make all this happen.
I have now resigned from the Board of the Boulder Osho Centre.
Once again my sincerest apologies to anyone who has been hurt by my actions and most especially apologies to Osho and his work,

This strikes me as not a letter of apology but more like a “Confession”.
I have read a number of such in studies of history, some “written” in totalitarian states just before execution. The Osho trademark/copyright issues may be obscure to me, but the tone and type of confession was often beaten out of those who had been tortured and obviously written by someone else for them to then sign.
One wonders whether the bargain offered Vidhoa was you sign this letter of apology and we will then accept you back into the fold with visiting rights to the Resort, etc? Otherwise excommunication!
Why not also publish Sangeet’s reply and Ramarshi’s comment to Bhagwati too?

Osho always talked about how people will revolt not because it is sane..but due to the nature of mind and ego..
I posted here long time back that the biggest damage and let down happend to Osho is that legal case.. It just showed we never learned from Sheela and were ready to do one more SELF-Stabbing
There had been any number of people who couldnt be closer to Osho beyond a point and who couldnt stand the fact His people contained a group which palyed critical role in the evolution of the movement, just stabbed at the righ time using that legal case..
What they didnt realise was it was not stabbing some one.. It was stabbing Osho himself asthough He had not gone thru enough in his life… Jesus was better off , Socrates was better off.. they were let down only once.. Osho had to see the pain of His vision also getting stabbed ..

Ten years of legal case , miilions of dollars down the drain and most importantly sheer waste of positive energy ..It diluted all the good work and momentum Osho was gaining..
People say all was well until the year 2000..thats right.. that insanity took over…
As a south indian ( very conservative society ) i know how very few people were even aware of Osho.. Now Osho is everywhere.. Recently i was standing outside Pune gate when three south indians from very humble background came and asked me whether there is any possibility of going inside to see the commune.. It was december end.. i guided them to the reception.. They came back and told me that they had been asked wait for few days as it was december 31st and they had temporarily stopped visitors.. January beginning i was pleasantly surprised to see those guys in maroon robe inside.. they just came to visit..but rather registered and stayed back few days inside.. they came to say a bye and i could see the energy.. the point is Osho is intensly penetrating even very conservative places.. thats mainly because of the media work / publication work done by Pune and also work done by people like Swami Mohan Bharti .. You must meet that man to understand what Osho love is… not the guys who are licking their lips to get milelage out of legal case.. thats nothing to do with loving Osho

I believe you Kranti, and it’s lovely you are sharing what is happening there. So, OFI is working hard and doing good job. However, I do not see any harm other sanyasins like Keerti doing the same.
Also, I never heard it would be good the concentrate all the power in the hands of few (that’s cult stuff). It’s only healthy, modern and transparent that other sanyasins produce osho’s talks too, even for OFI. So, they should stop wasting money at courts.
What if there was only osho.com? what harm is in dialogue?
People’s personal processes in meditation need protection and sequrity.
Religious organization’s practical issues and organization would be good to be transparent.

I would like to be clear.. I am not against different people carrying out Osho work .. Keerthi has created a beautiful meditative space in his own way.. So is Sw Arun.. I am not talking about the energy which is creating beautiful meditation centers.. I am talking about the energy which was instrumental in converting the conflict in vision as a legal issue and got mileage from it.. I can not name people.. But everyone knew who the real guys behind the court battle are..
Did you mean OFI or OFI? OFI is the entity which is behind the legal action although there ahve justification that they didnt start it .. I dont agree with that point of view.. its a case of picking up a dispute abd when people try to defend it, then file a case against them and then say we didnt start it..That negative energy has done so much damage in the last ten years
Nowhere in the world with any other master people were not allowed to carry on the work of the master like the way Osho work is being blocked in the name of trademarks and rights. Even a die hard ( sorry for the term ) guy like JK had practical view when it came to trademarks and copyrights.. He createda fiunadtion also. Because Osho talked about trademarks in a certain context these guys completely misused Osho to grab a share of the pie.. the same Osho has talked about / wanted so many things which have actually become areality in Pune than anywhere else in the world.. I haven’t wanted to take part in this fight actually. JK (and it’s foundation) is very small compared to Osho today.

I also understand that Pune organization can not (and is not obligated) to take part in every individual reaction toward them (as authority figures)…I would never support that…but this seems to be more at stake here.
OIF initiated proceedings by trying to stop a group using the word “Osho” in their domain name. If OIF won this, then Kranti, you would not be able to express your love for Osho on “KrantiLovesOsho.com”, unless OIF allowed it.
It is not possible to trademark a famous historic figure. OIF, in getting their trademarks associated with “Osho”, actually committed fraud by omitting the fact of Osho being a famous historic figure.
Imagine Kranti if you go to your home town and set up a program that including let’s say Dynamic Meditation (as per Osho guidelines). OIF had the name trademarked, so that means you cannot legitimately use the name unless OIF allows it.
In a way it can act as a protection of the integrity of “Osho”, in the same way that having a copyright can work to protect the integrity of his works. The trouble is OIF has used the copyrights to shut down authentic Osho individuals and organisations that have sought to share Osho (with utmost concern for quality and integrity). They were misusing their authority to control rather than to protect. This was being extended to trademarks to further extend their control. Of course the trademarks were attained fraudulently. Lust for power knows no end. OIF then sought to control Osho centres by coercing them (perhaps evening called extortion, another potentially criminal offence) to sign a legal contract (called a Letter of Understanding).
Tell me how it is right that someone fraudulently attains monopolisation of “Osho” through omitting that he is a famous historic figure? Is OIF above the law? Perhaps OIF is sanctioned by Osho because Osho secretly whispers in Jayesh’s ear from Planet Osho. What right does the legal system have to interfere in the operation of a mystery school? Religion is above law and all the infidels.
The successful media campaign by OIF and Pune Resort is a powerful argument. Reflect on this, that if Sheela had her way, Osho’s books would too be in every book store through out the world. The Ranch would have been the world headquarters for Osho. So many innocent seekers would have been drawn to a dangerous and powerful religious cult. Knowing what Sheela conspired to do, attempted to do, and actually did, can you imagine what should might have got up to if she got her way?
Editing of these books has gone far beyond the basic grammatical omissions. Perhaps some power is commanded by the publishing giants. Publishing giants know what formula makes good sales and profits. Osho becomes a famous popular fiction. Perhaps some of the editing, and omission of certain discourses, is entirely to project a certain dimension of Osho….the Jayesh and Amrito version of Osho Zen (as per the resorts guidelines). Of course it is not all about neo-Zen, because Jayesh and Amrito need certain elements of Osho’s devotional insights to hold onto power. What was it in the Dark Ages…“I am the sole authority through which God speaks”. You will find in time that the editing and omissions will be refined on the bases of maintaining religious power and control over the Osho movement. This is even more important than the publishing giants know-how about what makes a popular fiction sell well.
Perhaps you think that such a view is a fictional conspiracy. I guarantee you that Sheela would have done just the same thing when trying to spread Osho’s message far and wide, that is if she was not stopped.
Fresch is of the view that this is all in the realm of religious politics. What happened at The Ranch was seriously criminal, not psycho projection baloney. Imagine what Sheela would be up to today if she was not stopped.
Plenty of people missed the signs of what was going on at The Ranch, and the signs were glaringly obvious. Sannyassins overheard conspiring to murder or plans to poison, and still stayed in their insane spiritual trip that all is well and good.
Seen or heard anything that might be a sign about the current Inner-Circle, OIF, and the Pune resort? Nahh, everything is cool, the resort is a slice of heaven, and I wish those bad people would stop saying such nasty lies.
Kranti you spend so much time praising the resort, and thinking of your beloved Osho. Finally you quit your job and head off to Pune. How long did you last? Ten days or so wasn’t it. What, too much of a good thing was it? Yet here you are again lambasting all the unbelievers. You need a little credibility. See you at the resort. Well, I do not want to go into legal details. However, Osho’s work has grown so much that perhaps the resort should work out a new organizational model. Become transparent about practical issues.
I am not worried about some compilation books, but its not healthy if only one small secretive group of people decide about the books or if you have to ask for permission to organize meditations. This is common sense. Even some people did it wired way; I would trust new people’s intelligence.
Also I would ban the banning (except for illegal actions). I would also like to see osho.com and osho world (with it’s forum) emerge like somebody suggested here (Shantam was it).

Other day i have seen in one home Osho´s book in German printed and published in 1975, Was there a big corporation around to push His book in public shelf.
And i dare any of the readers of Osho, hold a book of Osho printed before and printed now and FEEL THE ENERGY.
And also go to the book shop and compare any two books; one from J Krishnamurti and another from Osho.
Again compare the vibes.
Who needs an army of disciples to talk with few publishing houses to print the lucid and juicy words of Osho.
One does not need the fucking presence of some Master´s compassionate energy to sign few documents.

After the girls and milf´s in sex movies, after the songs of Lady Gaga and mamama, books industry is always hungry for the titles to fulfill the hunger of people, and it is always in the hunt for new faces telling the same thing again and again, just like the Bolly or Hollywood movies.
And more over, readers of my comment can find themselves, how many people in the last 10 years, they have met in their own town because someone read Osho´ s book.
Whether you live in a town of 15 thousand people or 1.5million find different meditation events, and check out where people are going, which group is attracting how many participants.
In this situation the Sannyas mind with clever logic will say, ” Number of people have no meaning as many sannyasins believe most of the people living on the earth are mediocre.
When number of people means nothing than why bother how many books are sold.
Those who are still fascinated with books should check out in their toilets whether the roll of paper is there?
At the beginning and the end of the day, this is what counts the most.

I can talk about Osho and share my love in a site called kranti..why should i name it as Osho? Why dont we look at the other side.. If i open center and teach dynamic..somone walks up to me and say he finds the 3rd stage difficult.. so i drop the 3rd stage and still call it Osho Dynamic.. is that alright?

Let me ask you where are those 19 other people who left.. What Osho love they had ? Now I am nobody to suggest or argue specific reasons for why these people left.. But in general they should have stayed for Osho.. Things would have got sorted out by meditation and dialogues..not by leaving and starting competing organizations..

If we argue that Pune has adopted ZEN style and its wrong then why are we not saying similar things about other centers.. To me most of these people left because they couldnot have individuality / expression in Pune.. Jayesh and amrito as per my understanding work as ordinary guys without even coming infront.. have you seen Osho.com bragging about these two? See all other websites and centers? Yes I quit my job to do residentiall. they were gracious in accepting me and in the way they traeted me.. unfortunately i couldnt start the program due to my personal reasons.. It has got nothing to do with Pune ( You made major assumptions here )

Books were just a small part of Osho´s strategy.
He was not there to earn the royalty but to win the people´s heart and being.

Simple..there is a Osho advice / quote pasted in the work as meditation office.. on this point..the essence of working in commune and the challenges.. Before i had decided to do the program i was fortunate to read that Osho quote.. I was stunned.. With one quote he made me realise what is the essence of working in a commune.. I think anyone who understands that quote will continue..
Books are just part of the overall media effort.. we are living in an information age.. Anyone who refuses to understand and utlize media in all forms be it books , videos , websites , news channels , internet based distributions and youtube Live programs etc etc.. Its too vast ..Ofcourse they are not replacement for actually meditating and dancing and relating with people..
Next winter, if I go to pune, I will go to dynamic and scream in catharsis: I LOVE OSHO! But hey, they will probably throw me out for using words…somebody might hear it…

If we keep selling big 1000 page books not even 10% people ( Of the people who read Osho today ) will take initiative to buy and read.. todays youngters are looking for quick solutions , easy references to their everyday challenges.. There is none other than Osho who can speak and help people on all subjects ..When i started 17 years ago i didnt have money to buy any of the so called original books.. i bought small pocket books containing few chapters..that gave me thirst to dive in more..
So the success of reaching oshoto as many people as possible depends on how well his message is packed and distributed to people who need is the key.. we cannot sit and go on talking about 1000 page orginal books.. although people will take them once they get a taste
Sting gets inspired and writes a song called fragile.. another hollywould actor is inspired by osho and acts in a film based on that inspiration.. there are 1000s out there who are tasting Osho and getting inspired ..All due to the good work done by all of his people.. I am not suggesting pune alone should take 100% credit..but what they have done is massive

Does it mean Vidhoa has written this letter 23 days ago in Pune.
It means this fellow wanted to enter the resort and as the policy matters, first you have to confess your sins against Osho and His work through a written apology.
If i want to enter, surely i must prepare too the letter.
I, Shantam Prem was utterly misguided by my ego to write at sannyasnews against the pious and innocent beings of people who are doing this tiresome work to bring Osho in people´s daily life.
Now after two years i have realised my mistake that i was being used as a tool by the editors for their vested and dubious interests in the downfall of Osho work being done by the management team.
I sincerely apologies to sannyas community for hurting their emotions and sentiments and wish to be allowed again to drink the tap water in the resort compound and i accept in writing that i will never use the word Ashram and embrace the RESORT with my heart and being.

The Foreign Office has apologised for a “foolish” document which suggested the Pope’s visit to the UK could be marked by the launch of “Benedict” condoms.
