Keep it in Mind: Osho dead and alive

KEEP IT IN MIND
An important reflection from Lokesh

‘Soon I will not be here either. And remember, I would like to remind my disciples especially: if you really love me, when I am gone I will direct you to people who will be still alive. So don’t be afraid of that. If I send you to Tibet or if I send you to China or if I send you to Japan or to Iran go. And don’t say that because you belong to me you cannot belong to another real Master. Just look in the eyes and you will find my eyes again. The body will not be the same but the eyes will be the same. If your journey is not complete with me while I am here, if something is still to be done, completed, then don’t be afraid. By dropping me you will not be betraying me. In fact, by not dropping me and by not following the real, the alive Master, you will be betraying me. Keep it in mind.’
Osho. Sufis: The People of the Path, Vol 1

Although it is over thirty-three years ago since I heard Osho deliver those words in Buddha Hall, I’ve always carried them with me, so, yes, I did keep it in mind. At the time those words moved me to tears, because back then I could not imagine a world without Osho in it. I was also moved by his compassion and how much he cared for his sannyasins, to the extent that he made provision for us in the future, when he would be gone from this world.

Today, when I read some of the comments on SN from people who think they are somehow deeply connected with Osho, yet obviously despise and resent sannyasins who have moved on to other masters, I wonder how did this happen? What went wrong? Why do they feel threatened? I think the answer to that lies in Osho’s statement, ‘In fact, by not dropping me and by not following the real, the alive Master, you will be betraying me. Keep it in mind.’

As I’ve said before on SN, sannyas was never about being comfortable. Now I see that some sannyasins have adopted a comfortable relationship with Osho ― now that he is dead, and I say that understanding that the energy that Osho was a manifestation of can never actually die. These people have not kept these very important words of Osho in mind and followed the real and alive master. No, they are sticking with an edited version of the past and laying the foundations for a dead religion. They are doing this because they are afraid of the unknown, the alive, that there could be life beyond Osho’s name and form. Instead of letting the message enter the heart as intended, it is the messenger who is being worshiped. A cult of personality has developed.

As history shows, there is nothing new in this practice, it is the same old, same old, but seeing as how it is the time of celebrating Osho’s death I just felt to mention that it is far more important to celebrate his life, because I know from my own experience that Osho was telling the truth when he said, ‘Just look in the eyes and you will find my eyes again. The body will not be the same but the eyes will be the same.’ I found those eyes again and it was thanks to Osho’s message that I could be open to that. Keep it in mind.

whats true for you today… may change tomorrow…even your own attitude to whats happening now will change…so the transience is unreliable as an indicator of values…i could even state the opposite of this…now.. equally… so what we point to cant be quantified in absolute terms.. only as symbolic motives in time..for a given result.. in fact the result premeditates the motive and its labels… a bit like the answer precedes the question and forms it

if you want to understand the effect of all this then search’ lsd and british army ‘ on you tube….

Lokesh, this article is absolutely spot on.

Not to say that all who ‘stick with Osho’ are ‘wrong’…

But there are some home truths in there that should make uncomfortable reading for quite a few who turn up regularly here…I hope they do see the point…

But what’s the betting they twist his words to suit their convenience? Heavily odds-on, according to Ladbrokes….

  3. Chinmaya says:

The expressions to Osho suggestions are very good, but whether we apply His other sermons and try to go to Silence/Awareness ?

  4. prem bubbie says:

Just reading Chinmaya’s response nails the issue on the head- why many are stuck with the old, “the edited version of the past”; Chinmaya’s statement, “… whether we apply His other sermons…” “Sermons”, as in type that Christians hear at church, Jews hear at the synagogue, Muslims at a mosque… Chinmaya and alike(Shantam,Prkash, Anand, Anugrah,et.al) have this need for order, organization, certainty, discipline. Something found also in grammar school, especially “religious”ones. Yes, they don’t want to grow up…. little adult children, dangerous to those who have grown.. that i believe is what holds humanity back, back from true spiritual evolution. A hundred thousand “Osho’s” or “Lao Tzu’s”, kicking them in the ass to move on wouldn’t be enough… pity- so many Shantam’s, so little time.

  10. Swami Detective says:

Well considered and written piece Lokesh. One thing I draw from the Osho quote is how even in the early days he spoke with tremendous depth and foresight. It was not like he was an immature Master slowly mastering his craft. He spoke from a vast vantage point that was clearly meant to be applicable beyond his physical years, even way back then.

I would say that when Lokesh was in Buddha Hall that night he was hearing a message that was meant for him and some others, but not for everyone. The contradiction is that the Master’s message is considered both timeless and all inclusive, yet also situation and person specific. The answer I think is one’s own growth in sensitivity or refinement in hearing the truth. Keep company with that which resonates to your deeper truths not your shallow lies. I guess it is simply the art of living.

Finding another Master is not in itself a simple chore. As if it was not difficult enough deciphering a Master’s message, being sure that a so-called Master is not a scoundrel is also no straight forward endeavour.

Maybe there is anyhow nothing to master. Could be just a spiritual ponzi scheme invented by Buddha and passed down to Jesus and others.

Maybe there is nothing to master because you do not exist other than in someone else’s dream.

    Scene 1 in Boshowood’s Shiekspear’s Spamlet

Swami Outer Circle rushes into Guru Soho’s far from humble abode and says, “Guru Soho, what shall we do, Ma Magnetic just drank from the Nullah sewer, and now her orifices are overflowing and she is hallucinating.”

Swami Love Money, who has been sitting in a corner studying the basics of chess looks up and calmly says, “I just read Guru Soho’s next move, and he was about to say that that damn Swami Loco Lockhead has been hiding his acid in the stream again.”

Guru Soho, who has been mumbling nonsensically for days suddenly has a brief moment of lucidity and roars, “To be or not TB, that is they question”.

At this potentially scandalous claim, Swami Outer Circle and Swami Love Money gaze into each others eyes and ever so briefly wink.

As the crowd gathers around Ma Magnetic, who has suddenly taken up a rather creative version of Sufi whirling on the Buddha Hall podium, Swami Outer Circle and Swami Love Money suddenly rush up.

In awe the crowd is distracted from Ma Magnetic and turn to the distinguished duo.

“I have an important announcement” says Swami Outer Circle. “Guru Soho has just changed my name to Swami Inner Psycho, and my chum here is called Swami Condo Con. He also said to say that the CIA developed a new poison that lies dormant until activated by aerial drone. It was implanted in his left ear lobe two years ago today.”

“They just activated today”, said Swami Condo con.

Swami Inner Psycho chimed in with “And so the dear old bugger just snuffed it. In his last breaths he said to say to you that me and my good ol’ chum here are bestowed with making a double seater Osho chair to share. He said that me and my chum are to become great priests and to make him a great Indian saint. Then he can sit back on Planet Sunny Sohot, and watch a few good wars.”

Just then a little mechanical bee buzzed over the gathering crowd and headed off in the direction of the United States of America.

With new found authority the duo then ordered Swami Dynamite to throw Ma Magnetic off the stage. They then proceeded to explain that they did this to prevent Ma Magnetic from falling off the edge.

Swami Inner Psycho then says, “In the interest of the health and safety of all, I have ordered this pagoda and podium to be demolished secretly in the middle of the night.”

Under the wrap of darkness with no moon, a team of men and women in Sodexterous suits sneak up and, for the good of all, smash the stage to pieces with sledgehammers.

With the dangerous eyesore now levelled, the Cashram was then declared safe by Swami Condo Con.

A few days later a large number of wealthy financial magnates were seen filing into the Blue Room in Krisha House.

On the table in the Blue Room was a statue of Guru Soho. Everyone in the room was unaware that the red dot in the middle of Guru Soho’s forehead was actually a secret listening device planted posthumously by Guru Soho himself. The recording of the meeting is a little sketchy:

    “… … …water is pure… … … .rooves not leaking……..crumbling walls from water damage due to leaking pipes .. .. ..sewerage pipes leaking .. .. …no, no … your imagination… .too much LSD… new machinery and equipment now old. . ..… …… … .food not clean… …… HP … toxic… … no, no, Swami Humpty Dumpty … … very smart … … … good for hippies, good for you … … …… …. .US EPA… … … .Indian academic literature … …… … …no, no, Swami Humpty Dumpty … …. very smart… …… … …. old water treatment system… … design flaw … ….. new water treatment system … …central water filtration not work .. turned off . . .. never turned on . .… … filters at all wells removed…pool and shower smells like poo.. … .. Over the next week a large number of golden tree houses were built all over the Cashram.

And so it was from that time onwards, on special days like the Financial New Year, wealthy man and women in sweaty and smelly non-breathable plastic maroon suits would fly in from across the globe on their private jets, and gather and nest.

  12. Yogy says:

“So when you feel like crying, cry. When you miss me, miss me! And let a great remembrance arise in you. Feel me very consciously around you and you will be able to jump across time and space. That’s how love is said to be beyond time and space. It can jump from one place to another place without taking any time. It is the fastest thing possible. Love is faster than light! In a single moment you can be on another planet. So I will be with you!”
“I will be there, and if you meditate rightly whenever your meditation is exactly tuned, you will see me. So that will be the criterion of whether you are really meditating or not. Many of you will be able to see me more intensely than you can see me right now, and whenever you see me, you can be certain that things are happening in a right direction. So this will be the criterion. By the end of this camp I hope ninety percent of you will have seen me. Ten percent may miss because of their minds. So if you see me don’t start thinking about it, what is happening, don’t start thinking whether it is imagination or a projection or am I really there. Don’t think, because if you think immediately I will disappear; thinking will become a barrier. The dust will come on the mirror and there will be no reflection. Whenever the dust is not there, suddenly you will become aware of me more than you can be aware here right now. To be aware of the physical body is not much awareness; to be aware of the nonphysical being is real awareness.
You must learn to work without me. You cannot be here always, you will have to go far away; you cannot hang around me forever, you have other works to do. You have come from different countries all over the world; you will have to go. For a few days you will be here with me, but if you become addicted to my physical presence then rather than being a help it may become a disturbance, because then when you go away, you will miss me. Your meditation should be such here that it can happen without my presence, then wherever you go the meditation will not be in any way affected.
And this too has to be remembered: I cannot always be in this physical body with you; one day or another the physical vehicle has to be dropped. My work is complete as far as I am concerned. If I am carrying this physical vehicle, it is just for you; some day, it has to be dropped. Before it happens you must be ready to work in my absence, or in my nonphysical presence which means the same. And once you can feel me in my absence you are free of me, and then even if I am not here in this body the contact will not be lost.
It always happens when a Buddha is there: his physical presence become”
My dear friends…please don;t play mind game…Osho say that you can find gurus but..He say I will avialble alwyas to my people…please, pleae, please….stop this nonesens…because of these kind of people all kind of frauds born..like Shelendra, rajneesh and all…please stop all such ugly gam around Osho…dont polute his work….

What i wonder is people like Lokesh and SD kind are unable to digest that Osho show went further than their participation…

It is almost like that Indian woman with American being called Sheela..she is not willing to accept that Bhagwan is not any more..The person has chosen himself to be called OSHO..

Such people will prefer to cut their tounge but will not utter anything else than BHAGWAN.

  25. deva sugit says:

    Lokesh,

In whom did you find Osho’s eyes again?

  26. shantam says:

It is the generosity of the Master Like Osho..that he spoke something like that in the first paragraph of this article..
So much respect for the human freedom and search….
Never heard another Master from Indian sub continent speaking like this..

Now let us presume..Osho has not given this freedom..In many discourses he ha pointed towards disicple´s impatience…that if he goes somewhere else..or mix two three master´s together process will be faster…Enlightenment will be achieved before the stock is completey sold out..as if it is the clearance winter sale and winter will never come again..

For example this story..someone digs few fetes here, few feet there and this goes on…not a single well is being dig in this way yet dozens of holes…

and also..why people are not taking the responsibility on themselves..that they were/are going to this and that Master with their own choice or through the motivation of their friends..
Why to think Poor Osho works as a luggage carrier.. or like a generous husband on death bed..using the time to create a single´s profile for His soon to be widow, wife..

  27. shantam says:

What a soothing feeling it can be for Satya Deva..that Like a patriarch father..instead of choosing the wives for his sons..Osho is choosing the new master´s for his initiated disciples..
GP OSho is referring the patients to the specialists..

I hope..in a reciprocal gesture..Mam Meera will send few to me, the heart specialist from the school of Osho..(in case i open my clinic)..

    SD:
Anugrah, out of overflowing compassion for your benighted condition, I’ll explain a little:

It’s a matter of simple courtesy, ok? This is an English language site and blog, so if you post in another language, without explaining what’s written or said, it’s not very helpful to the vast majority of readers/viewers.

As for being “childish” – well, perhaps you need to take a look at yourself and see whether you fit this description, imputing “hate..towards everything in life” on my part. What an utterly childish thing to say!

A fixation with looking at brief clips of Osho, sannyasin dances and music might in itself be rather “childish”, frankly. Depends on the person, I guess…

    As I suggested before,

  37. Lokesh says:

Sugit: In whom did you find Osho’s eyes again?
It is a reasonable question to ask, but I intentionally left it open because that particular subject deserves a whole new thread of its own. I’ll write it if it takes too long for somebody else to start a new thread. In the meantime I will say this. When Osho said, ‘Just look in the eyes and you will find my eyes again.’ it must be taken into account that he could have been talking metaphorically. It might be in the eyes or just a vibe or an intuitive feeling that the type of person he is referring to is jacked into the whole. One thing is for certain; if you are receptive those eyes will appear as long as there is a need for an outward manifestation of that which is your inherent perfection.

  38. shantam says:

Without going into the merit of the people and their methods…Sri Bhgavaan of Oneness university is attracting more western disciples than Osho or any one else in the same length of time…
With Osho it was the extremely wonderful expressions of spirituality…WIth J krishnamurti it was a pure genious at work..
But what is that which attract people to the Hinduistic approach orineted masters…?
Do the mass of people see Divine in these people´s eyes or it is the idea of miracle makes them see such things..

On the other side, let us take the eyes snaps of Osho´s father..Osho and His five six brothers..same camera..same angle same lighting system…
Will it be possible to say..which eyes have the Enlightenment…!!

  39. shantam says:

From the net, i can post the photos of more than 10 Indian gurus the successors of a chain guru tradition..each with not less than one million disciples behind..i am not sure whether someone like Lokesh can see a shade of less or more light around them…

Why to go that far..let us imagine the faces of for example; Samdarshi, Samarpan, Rajneesh, Dolano, Pyar..the realised..stable persons from the breeding farm of Osho..
Do they radiate that..what they advertise..or what their faithfull followers believe..

Do the guru work is based on the famous saying, Beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder?

  40. Lokesh says:

Not every enlightened person has to become a guru with disciples. I’ve met a few enlightened people who had no disciples. Often enlightened people work in service to others. The point is not how many disciples a master has. The point is how many new masters a master helps create. It has also come to my attention that gurus and masters who gather a huge amount of disciples round them are often mired in commerce.
It is well known in India that you have Arihantas…men or women who are enlightened but are unable to help others attain enlightenment. Or what about the masts that Mehar Baba worked with? Divinely intoxicated people whose bodies run around drinking contaminated water out of open sewers, because there is no one left to care about the body, which often is unaffected by toxins that would turn a stalwart gutter rats guts inside out but does not affect the masts, who often have startingly clear eyes. Yes indeed. How very true is that old sannyasin homilly…life is a mystery to be lived and not a problem to be solved.

  41. Satya Deva says:

    Shantam – you’re being too clever-by-half…

This pointless speculation will get you nowhere…

You’re not really interested on any real level anyway, evidently – so why not do yourself and us a favour and simply shut up?

  42. Satya Deva says:

Alternatively, Shantam – if you’re really interested, ie if it’s of the utmost importance to you – go and be with one or more of these people and see for yourself.

Anything less is just mental bullshine.

  43. prem bubbie says:

swami defractive said earlier that Osho’s lecture that night in buddha hall was meant for lokesh and only a few others… Say again? Are you kidding? Your bitterness towards the idiots running the Resort has twisted your mind so as not to even be able to understand what Osho was all about.. he was for EVERYONE… his lectures – for everyone.. whether a person can absorb what he was saying is an entirely different matter; which my current post is about for the most part… you obviously can’t/won’t absorb anything except your own mind speaking things to itself… please don’t leave home without your anti-schizo meds… don’t you ever tire of the self- chatter?

  44. prem martyn says:

we need more sex on sannyasnews…

  45. prem martyn says:

i mean how can you possibly have a good wank to considerations of a guru’s eyes…..

‘ look into my eyes and swallow if you really love me’

    my kind of guru test…

  46. Satya Deva says:

Yep, Bubbie, much of this thread is a classic demonstration of how people read, think, believe exactly what suits them – whatever the evidence.

How utterly foolish is the human mind…

As I said, all so thoroughly, dreadfully, moronically predictable.

  47. Lokesh says:

  48. prem martyn says:

  50. shantam says:

When one looks into the Osho discourses in their historical background, it is easier to see, to what kind of audience Osho was addressing to..

Few of the most profound talks were given in Hindi and later translated in English, talks on Upnsihidas, talks on Krishna´s Geeta, Ashtavakra´s Mahageeta, Vigyan Bhairav Tantra etc..
It would have been futile to talk about Master Disciple thing to an Indian audience, where such concept is taught in the Primary schools.

Later on during the last part of His life, when the title Bhagwan Shree was taken away, Osho has mentioned something like, that He was waiting and preparing for His whole life to have His people who are willing to trust Him and take him as He is rather than what kind of wise talks He was delivering..

The Master-disciple thing was spoken so poetically during the early Pune days, when the changing whether brought a new fashion to the western youth, search for oneself through the eastern ways of life..
To have a guru became the fashion accessory, and it became important to catch these souls that their freedom is intact, you are not going into another kind of trap of saviour complex.

i’m waiting for a sexy enlightened woman.. but would she offer to

    Shantam himself:
Does this comment is applicable to the writer, Mr. Satya Deva also or he thinks being the exception to the rule…

    SD:
In this context, Shantam, this comment applies to YOU, sir, and anyone else of your persuasion.

Is that clear enough for you?

You need to understand the basics if you’re going to build a religion, y’know…

    First rule:
Twist the Master’s words to suit the purposes of yourself and the particular religion-building group you belong to. You know, to make it all nice and comfortable for you all…

You’d already seemed to have grasped this essential, of course. Simple really, eh?!

  59. deva sugit says:

    Lokesh,

I wondered was it someone still living. I read your post about Poonjaji. In either case, I love gossip about enlightened peeps.

Osho had nothing nice to say about Mr. P., did he? I wonder why that was. If O was all about the enlightenment of individuals, why would he not send people to Lucknow?

O said to go see J. Krishnamurti. Of course, he made fun of him and critiqued him as a Master, but he did not deny his enlightenment. The same with Tamo-San.

But with P. and U. Krishnamurti and of course many others, as far as I know, he said they were not enlightened, never mind Masters.

By the way, I saw J.K., but not P. Certainly I saw in J.K.’s eyes the “thing”. And even in pictures, it’s very clear that Gurdjieff, Meher Baba, Ramana Maharshi had “it”.

I’ll read your reply here or in a new thread.

  64. prem bubbie says:

Shantam-dip shit– your post regarding the historical reference with regards to osho’s discourses made ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE WHATSOEVER !!!!

  65. prem bubbie says:

P.M. i think shantam is mourning his dad’s passing- again… give the boy a quaalude please!!!!

  66. Lokesh says:

Bubbie: ‘“Keep it in mind”…”.An important reflection from Lokesh” And I thought you said you weren’t serious with your posts!!!
The ‘important reflection’ bit came from the editor. I suppose it might be important, but I don’t really know. Such is the fate of this unenlightened thread writer. I’m not serious about it, because I don’t know if any of this stuff makes the slightest bit of differance to anything or anyone.

  67. Lokesh says:

Sugit: Osho had nothing nice to say about Mr. P., did he? I wonder why that was.
Osho, rarely had much good to say about any so-called enlightened teacher. There are many reasons why he might have done this.
You would think that so-called enlightened people would want to meet other people in the same state to have a cup of tea and a chat, but that does not happen very often for a number of good reasons…the disciples watching their every move for a start. I think a lot of us got lazy around Osho and let his opinions become our own, instead of going and finding out for ourself.

  68. shantam says:

Twist the Master’s words to suit the purposes of yourself and the particular religion-building group you belong to….

    M/s Satya deva & Bros.

I think once in a while it is important to make one´s position clear.
What to say about Master´s words, i will prefer to burn in hell than to twist anybody´s words, question of twisting the words in a will will not even arise..

It is important to understand that words are not just words, there are unspoken words, there are gestures, there are behavioural attitudes.
And more over words have to fit in a certain legal and social framework..
One cannot adopt a child and than to say my inheritance goes only to my natural born children.
Even in the cases, when there is no adoption paper, still the adopted child has the possibility to prove his rights through the evidence of other people.
People can testify that the child was always presented before as adopted child in the family gatherings etc…

So words have to prove their foundation too..
Words have the history and the future.

Personally, it is none of anybody´s business what we understand from Osho, His words actions and gestures.
Whether some goes to find a new master or someone sticks with dead Osho is a question of personal choice, what kind of interpretation one uses for one´s own inner journey is very personal..
But it becomes the business of someone like me, when few people at the top level try to modify and TWIST the words of Osho according to their selfish motives and narrow vision….
Here if someone find ambiguity in my writings, i will be grateful to look through the other angles..

  69. Lokesh says:

Shantam you conclude, ‘Here if someone find ambiguity in my writings, i will be grateful to look through the other angles..’

Sounds good but you do not actually practice this. Twice recently I’ve asked what exactly you were talking about…for instance, the other day you were talking about Osho’s teachings and I said he taught a lot and it would help if you clarified. You ignored that comment and I’ve seen you do that with others. Due to this I’ve come to the conclussion that your writing on SN is mainly a form of mental catharsis and you are not really interested in honest dialogue.
It is somewhat ironic that you criticise others for their narrow vision in regards to Osho. It is ironic because you appear to me like a person that has an extremely narrow mind when it comes to such matters. You really don’t get it that a lot of what you describe sounds like you are describing yourself.

  70. shantam says:

The week before also, Lokesh has reminded with similar words-

    Jan 18, 2011 at 1:44 pm
Shantam: ‘So if Sannyasins are lacking in the ability to respond to the teachings of their own master…’
Osho taught a lot on a lot of different levels. To make sense of what you are saying it might help if you wrote down what teachings you are actually referring to. Unless it is a case of talking just for the sake of the action, with no real desire to communicate anything of value, which if the case means you are right on course…

So Let us take the bull by horn. It is a discussion so chances are always there to make it fruitful through the collective effort…

Osho´s teachings is so multi dimensional, multi colored that it will be a tremendous amount of concentration to find out how many colors Osho have used for His Life painting, even though most of the used color has one name..Meditation
The word Meditation is also is not a small hamlet of scattered huts, but a complete metro pole of well knitted suburbs…
The word meditation is so inclusive in Osho´s vision that it covers Prayer, devotion also as techniques…

It is a clear cut derailing Osho´s meditation when At Ashram(resort) singing Mantras are forbidden, but bollywood beats are played regularly..
Has Osho not given the book tiles to the Mantras..Has he not explained their significance time and again, Was devotional music was not played during Osho´s life time..

If the answer is yes…why some manager will take it away from the main seat of Osho´s work.
Question is who represents narrow vision and who stands for inclusive attitude….

So ..Meditation meditation meditation not just theory but doing doing doing is one of the fundamental teaching. the main color of Osho´ life painting..

Some comments, further discussion..please join IN..

    okay guys its saturday….

    okay.. i’m thinking.. give me a minute….

well i must say with my hand on my heart… that the most precious thing.. is the level of…

that is what i feel. is

and i’ll quote osho on this …that its ..

    been very

    as he said once…

    ‘ blissful….’

    and full of

    ‘ joy ‘

  72. Lokesh says:

I have heard that many people have become enlightened by reading just a few of Shantam’s comments, becaues those comments helped them see with amazing clarity the true nature of illusion.

  74. shantam says:

Son of a famous prostitute can see the differance between illusion and clarity..what a great steps Lokesh has taken in his life..
Thanks to the borrowed eye drops..

  75. shantam says:

There are not even basic etiqueets…to be a pimp would have been the right profession…
But it is quite visible too, in the inner journey..Changing masters like the girls in the brothal..
    complete control…
May be it was needed that Lokesh should have gone to some university first..to learn the art of discussion.
    What a dumbness..

  76. shantam says:

There was a three days meditation camp celebration and sannyas initiation from 17th till 19th January at Koregaon Park Pune.
But it was not at 17, Koregaon Park, the residence and ashram of Osho.
    Why?
may be it has become a Resort..such places are meant to be secular by nature, overly display of religiousity simply turn off the customers..
Question comes also, why the resortt management does not open a Mediattaion resort in their own countries.
Osho internatioanl Medittaion reosrt in London or Edmenton, in Brighton or in Miami…That will be the best homage to the Indian guru by His international band of followers
The creme of the creme followers, the followers who have the complete understanding about Osho..so complete that a single doubt does not arise in their brain that somebody else can have the equal or better understanding..

So the meditation camp in a rented auditorium created the flair of Osho..as i know from my friends, they said..the rented auditorium become Ashram for three days..and the event was enjoyed by the Indians and westerns both..

  77. Lokesh says:

Sounds like a bit of nostalgia for the old folks.

  78. shantam says:

During the Xmas in almost every churth, people lit their candles from the flame carried from Bethelhem…
years after years, decades after decades.
Why it is so, what is the purpose, why people indulge in such kind of childish games?

Some answer from the sannyasins who have Jesus DNA in their veins..

  79. prem martyn says:

    … where’s the sex i asked for here…..

sannyas without sex is like religion without a living guru…

one has to imagine what to do and how to be… tricky and not so messy…but less juicy…and one has to do it on one’s own….

still the universe gave us two hands.. because the universe is forever generous…

  80. Lokesh says:

Shantam, you obviously don’t know that Jesus was a black man?

  81. prem bubbie says:

Shantam: for a guy who recently posted- ” Do your meditations daily, but trust in Jesus”… your “Jesus” DNA is shooting out your ass!!!

  82. prem martyn says:

is that your sexual innuendo there ,lokesh.. is that it… its gonna have to go a long way…its a weekend.. oh well thanks..
    black man
    jesus
    big knob

    mary

yes i suppose its sex.. but not what i was thinking of…

  83. Lokesh says:

    Are you sure?

  84. prem bubbie says:

Shantam- every fucking day you post -SHIT- most intelligent people reading and replying to your posts, comment on not only how absurd your remarks are but how you simply ignore advice given to you. get some sort of mental health help.please.. Lokesh just mentioned how you ignore the truth , and how you have the gall to critique others who comment using common sense and reason. What is your Fucking problem , boy? What don’t you understand about my “kind” insults towards you? Are you deaf, dumb, blind? Did your Braille instructor abandon you after you tried to grab her boobs? If you are a glutton for punishment, just keep on posting…. i feel sad to say- you deserve all the abuse you get. “Tommy, can you hear me?”

  85. prem bubbie says:

Prem Martyn– those tofu burgers can boost a person’s Estrogen levels way high… better lay off them burgers bro…. my advice… switch to buffalo burgers… that’ll “man you up”. SEX SEX SEX SEX– you’re such a horny toad today.

  86. Satya Deva says:

    Shantam:
Personally, it is none of anybody´s business what we understand from Osho, His words actions and gestures.
Whether some goes to find a new master or someone sticks with dead Osho is a question of personal choice, what kind of interpretation one uses for one´s own inner journey is very personal..

    SD:
Then I presume your derogatory, snidey comments about any teacher other than Osho are to desist forthwith, Shantam?

After all, you are a man of your, er, ‘word’, are you not? (Although unwilling to let one word do the job, if you can stretch it to 20, of course. Par for the course for would-be ‘priests’, I guess)….

  87. shantam says:

Satya Deva.. My objection will come only when someone brings his impressions from others and impose that on Osho..
You see, this is similar to the draw backs of non mongamous relations. People transfer the viruses from one person to the others..
If someone has gone to another Master and is happy there, naturally questioon comes, what the person is doing on the site of Osho sannyasins..
But to make the club bigger, there is no harm to integrate ex sannyasins too.
But than someone become the ex. sannyasins only, when the inner expectaions of any kind are not fullfilled or some disillusion sets in regarding Osho.

Or..may be someone can point out a question similar to..where it is asked to Osho, ” Beloved Osho, what is your opinion if i get initiated by two different masters?

  88. shantam says:

Shantam- every fucking day you post -SHIT
Someone was addressing this fake person called Bubbie with DOG.
I am sure hungry dogs in America will also fed themselves with the shit, they way one sees in India.
I am happy to know, that someone is getting their daily nourishment from my shit.

On the other side he has no quality to produce himself something worth reading.. Lokesh has asked him to write an article.
    follow the advise.

  89. shantam says:

Osho’s statement, ‘In fact, by not dropping me and by not following the real, the alive Master, you will be betraying me. Keep it in mind.’
Like many others Lokesh seems to be have the knack to find exactly that from osho´s vast encylopedia, what fits with their own need..

I hope, Dr. Amrito reads such quotation too..it will be easier for him to apply for the personal physican´s job with some other master. During these 20 years, world has more masters on the scene than the mobile phone companies..

Would you be kind enough Lokesh to let your readers know, are you the subscriber of vodavon or O2 or …?

  90. Gandhi says:

Shantam it is time you get your ass over to India and spend a few weeks at the Osho Resort and send live updates from the source. Maybe drink some wine with the chairman and smoke some cigarettes with Doc Amrito.

Lokesh it is time that you disappear from this site and join the Poonjaji news from Lucknow for ex- Osho disciples. They have a job offering for a chief editor. Circulation: 5.

Prem Bubbie: it is time you shut your dirty mouth and mind and use some kind of strong chemical to get your
guts cleaned. You are obviously a very sexually supressed dog soul. I heard that they do a de-tox cleaning for homeless people downtown Portland. I wonder if they also allow stray dogs?

  91. Lokesh says:

Oh well, at least I’m not being ignored.

  92. shantam says:

Before i go to bed..and Lokesh seems to be awake too, i repeat my question for in sleep contemplation, ” After Punja ji, is there someone else in your life as Master or in other words, you feel gratitude and humbleness in the presence of someone?

  93. shantam says:

Gandhi, i would take your advise seriously if i know which Gandhi is you, as there are million plus people with the sirname Gandhi..
On the other side, i think, my name will be definately in the list of banned sannyasins at Pune. it is almost impossible, if it is not the case…
I don´t think there is any other blog where someone known to the resort management has written so many comments denouncing their leadership.
SO to ban such person is the least what they can do. and i have no grudge aganist them for this reason.

  94. prem martyn says:

    i’m being ignored… but i find it very spiritually cleansing…uplifting…and blissful…..

is it possible to be more ignored…if so please do it more..

    thanks..
    ignorantly

pm (actually its a.m now about 1.23.. but who cares.. my pm is being ignored in the am .. so i am not a.m at all……

  95. prem martyn says:

shantam.. do you keep asking people for their identity.. so as to get free unpublished copies of darshan diaries sent to you for enjoyment and proof..

really shantam.. you cant have xmas everyday?

  96. Satya Deva says:

    shantam:
Satya Deva.. My objection will come only when someone brings his impressions from others and impose that on Osho..

    SD:
That’s sheer dishonesty, Shantam, and well you know it.

Many times you’ve made, unprovoked (in your above terms), derogatory, snidey comments about other teachers here.

But of course, ah yes, I was forgetting – you’re trained as a lawyer, aren’t you?! (As was Tony Blair, of course)….

  97. prem bubbie says:

and Gandhi la Goop: it’s high time you received a high colonic and went on a 50km hike(no diapers allowed).

  98. prem bubbie says:

Goop d Gandhi- you’re such a puritan Are you a catholic priest disguised as a “sannyasin”? Who’s the sexually repressed one? So uptight with curse words, so “holier than thou”.. Also, so full of shit.

  99. prem bubbie says:

Shantam says-”…i repeat my question for in sleep contemplation”.. What is “In sleep contemplation”? And i thought shantam dreamed of sheep while he slept…. “before i go to bed”… is this the way you end your day- obsessed with trying to figure out what to post before bed time? non stop mind chatter- perhaps the worst case ever seen on SN. poor dear shantam…. take your own advice sahnatm- “Do your meditations before bed time but trust in Jesus”- (and may he watch over you so the boogie men won’t harm you).. nightie night – don’t let the gandhi bite.

  100. Kavita says:

    Hey Lokesh dear . . have you seen any movie . . lately . . wondering . . if you could . . recommend . . one . . :)

    sorry sannyasnews . . in case . . u / anyone is offended . .
    for using this forum . . for personal gratification . . :)

  101. Lokesh says:

The first film that comes to mind that I would recommend to you is ‘Live and Become.’ Here is a synopsis.

Fundamental issues of ethnic and religious identity and the agony of exile are at the heart of “Live and Become,” an intermittently compelling swatch of recent Israeli history filtered through the experience of an African immigrant. With epic aspirations that are only partly realized, the movie, directed by the Romanian-French filmmaker Radu Mihaileanu, aspires to be something like a contemporary “Exodus” from an outsider’s point of view. But so many themes converge with so much history, as the film tries to integrate an anguished personal odyssey with two decades of events, many seen briefly on television, that 140 minutes is barely enough time. — Stephen Holden

  102. Lokesh says:

PS. Kavita, there is no need to feel concerned if anyone feels offended by what you write on SN, especially so taking into consideration your inoffensive manner. Everyone who writes on here does so for personal gratification on some level or another.

  103. shantam says:

Martyn, you are not being ignored.
After publishing the darshan diary…your aura radiates so much sun shine as on the faces of born again Christians..I think somewhere you have risen in yourself.. during the same time, i was falling in my eyes..as i was dating two women..living a dream…and yet feeling morally degraded and dishonest in my eyes..

But definitely agree with you…Sex..as a subject is fast disappearing from Sannyas scene.. Seems like everybody wants to book a flat on the 5th till 7th floor.
Inner architects in these high rise buildings are doing a roaring business..
Satya Deva can tell, how much clientele of Madam Meera is growing every year.

  104. shantam says:

Martyn, 31 years ago during your darshan with Osho, you must be in your late 20´s. Quite a young man in between the garden of Edan.
As one can see from the photos of those periods..bearded men and hairy women seems to be in the ecstasy kind of levitation field…
As an insider participant and observer of that time, can you clear few questions about our mutual topic of interest..Women.
Do the photographers were instructed to focus more on the big boobed Ma´s or the women of that era were having bigger chest?
Once i have read that Marck and spencer has done the study through the sales of water melons that in 21st century men prefer to buy the average size melons and psychologically it means, the dig boobs are not in the big demand any more..

  105. shantam says:

Satya deva..i am not clear whether i should feel happy or sad to be remembered with Tony Blair.
When he was chosen first time PM, i was watching the news with idealistic hope on black and white color television, the way i used to adore Dr. Amrito year after after year as a perfect example of a dedicated disciple.

As i can say now..the power and responsibility must be giving such a psychedelic kick..that in the end one ends up in the used battery recycling basket of super markets..
Still..my being longs to have such power and responsibilty and the feeling i will deal with it different.(lol)

  106. Kavita says:

    Yes . . Lokesh . . :)

  107. prem martyn says:

Foreign women had bigger boobs for many years… way into the sixties .. the brigitte bardot marilyn monroe form was perfection in mens eyes….and i think the diets were less restrictive.. so genetically they created bigger daughters….but now.. everyone takes more care through more choice in the supermarket….

however imeediate post war children especially in ration starved england were quite scrawny and stayed like that…

as for the men they were different in the 70′s… with bearded men being sallow chested , unemotionally attended to by a post war emotive trauma…

when i write about how war destroyed our parents lives it makes me very sad….

unusual to write about that here..

still i think its a valid reflection..

now back to the music….and adverts… otherwise i’ll get lambasted for getting too maundy..

  108. prem martyn says:

    the above for shantam….

  109. prem martyn says:

shantam.. you think you’re banned from pune…..

well i think i’m banned from every meditation centre (lol) apart from the humaniversity… and i wouldn’t go there even if i was beaten over the head with a rock filled durex….

  111. Lokesh says:

I’m surprised that nobody on SN has mentioned that the USA is considering to lift its ban on the importation of haggis. Instead there is more attention being paid to the ‘in’ size of female breasts. I take this as a sign of further deterioation in the comments on SN. When will people wake up to what is really important in life?

  112. shantam says:

Lokesh, when you are on the famous Ibiza beaches, does the size of your eye balls remain the same or they change with the change in the view..
There are many important things in life, size of female breasts is one of them, ask any plastic surgeon.
When a big fraction of humanity has no access to maleria medicines, the wel fed part of humanity spends more money on silicon.
    For what?
There must be some psychological advantage…
I hope someone like Lokesh watches the videos of Pune two discourses, videography is superb..and every single discourse cover many important issues of life, from sex to superconsciousness, Zen and Giberrish meditation inbetween..

I love tradition, specially when it is chalked out by none other than OSHO.

  113. shantam says:

Martyn is not banned from humanversity or it is his wishful thinking to be there?
Can you share some juicy experiences from there. As you seems to be the perfect person to be a whisle blower..
Are they planning to put some advertisement on London buses, ” Way to Enlightenment has “69″ Stairs”

  114. Gandhi says:

  119. prem bubbie says:

kavita- what say you regarding breast implants– any experience, recommendations… did your men like them? the squeeze test, did they pass? for all sannyas women, this is important.

  120. shantam says:

Somehow i think we judge too harshly the people in the inner growth movement.
High street full with M.A Psychology doing psychology practice earn more respect and money compared to the holistic package offered by the therapists.
A highly successful guru in the west earns much less compared to a middle level lawyer or an investment banker.
Some where, we need to look at these people´s contribution in the positive light too.
On the other hand..Osho was offering a complete package.. different therapists sharing their skills with meditation and growing together in the energy field of Osho..
I am still not able to understand whether energy field inadvertently ends with Master leaving the body or the disciples can do the work of maintaining the energy field by being more mature, responsible and cooperative.
I think..some where Disciples have to look into themselves bit more critically.

  121. dharmen says:

prem martyn, do you come here to shock? i once said to a Christian, that God was a cunt, because I new it was about the worst thing I could say – I was thirteen at the time. What’s your excuse? Not everybody wants to read posts full of profanities, i don’t and I don’t think there are many that do.
And this dishing the dirt on therapists, what’s the point? Who says they should be perfect? Its bound to happen that people fuck up or do something stupid. Yes, if thats all they do then shout about it. But actually if we didn’t have these things happen something would be wrong – life is NOT perfect. You can’t really choose anything and demand that nothing bad happens.

  122. prem martyn says:

I spent an awful long time in the company of others who were on a constant roller coaster of influences, ambitions, half truths, outright lies, money stealing, betrayal and downright moronic stupidity to ever give a glancing look at a smiley toothy face again with a red robe and think benign thoughts…

    the party is firmly over….
so there is no way back…

    and so what…its not that important…at all…

yes the world lacks a certain spark… but ..guru’s don’t solve anything by endless verbiage…or vibes of love….

    sure its extarordinarily nice feelings

    and its a circus…
but don’t get all obsessive.. and if you do, do it alone..

but spiritually important.. nooooo.. not as a way of life.. more like a vibe…impossible to replicate if you try too hard…

    whats needed then?
less ambition or earnestness..and certainly less burdened sincerity…..

spirituality is better felt in the phrase we use regularly in our humanity and day to day dealings…

”is there anything i can do to help ?..
with the reply… thanks i’m fine, but thanks for asking….”

They therapy around Osho was always secondary, it was something, in poona at least, that supported Osho in drawing a vast number of people from all over the globe together in one place. That people got lost in the therapy and made it a way of life was not necessarily what osho wanted of it . It was a ‘distraction’ to keep you here, he said. Of course, it piled in the rupees for the Ashram, and when people thought to make money with it, it’s corruption was set. Yes, it’s a filthy business, especially if you’ve been hurt by it. But way back then the therapy wasn’t the point. And its no more the point today either, its still a distraction, but believe it or not there are those that swear by it.

which of course is perfectly understandable….and i’ll go away…pronto..

if thats not true for you.. then let me know….

oh gosh i’m now remembering the carefree days of when i collaborated at international times magazine… and the time i mentioned when we all took our clothes off in street theatre in 1978..on the brighton bike annual cycle ride and the van drivers honked in approval.. and the old women shouted out ‘disgusting’

Have you tried to sit in the other master´s cars. May be than you can find out, Osho´s car has the provision of all the air bags…life threating injuries were minimum.

Life is not over yet.. even it is not your need, try to get involved with other groups. Many such groups are very clean, very respectful..very loving..
From an ex girl friend i came across the name of psychology of vision- See..how nicely they have explained in their web site. Yu may get the idea to screw someone´s else girl friend..but none of faithfull ones will ever think to do with your doll.
    so….

Psychology of Vision is a path of the heart that has helped tens of thousands of people around the world through seminars, one-to-one coaching and its many products and publications. It has helped people improve their lives, their relationships and their health by giving them an understanding of themselves and others, and giving them insights into the events in their lives. It is a model that teaches emotional intelligence through a remembering of Self.

  147. Lokesh says:

Dharmen. ‘They therapy around Osho was always secondary,’

I can’t go along with that. For a few years theraphy was the big thing in the shram. You’ve mentioned that it was a good moneyspinner but it ran a lot deeper than that. Dynamic meditation is more of a theraphy than an actual meditation and people are still doing it. Osho’s ideas on the need for catharsis were probably plagerised from somewhere but they were and still are right on the button.
Here on SN I can see that some of the bloggers could do with some theraphy. Take all the sexual references. This comes from people who are unfulfilled sexually. If you are getting enough sex you won’t speak like that and if you are and still think that you are getting enough you are simply fooling yourself. sex is not something you think about. It is something you do. During the act, thoughts are a hinderence to letting it happen. If you have had a nice pair of tits to fondle recently you won’t need to write about tits on SN. If you’ve got down and dirty in the past few days you won’t need to write the word ‘cunt’ all over the shop.
Oh, I can hear the protests already…not true, not true, goes up the cry….but I simply don’t believe you. I know if my men friends start talking too much about sex they just are not getting enough or are frustrated on some level. I believe it is as simple as that.
Back to theraphy. I see the lack of theraphy in many Indian sannyasins psyches. Osho quite cleverly said they did not need it. He was being diplomatic. The Indians are amongst the most sexually repressed and messed up about their mommas as anywhere else on earth. Doing dynamic is only scraping the surface for them. Talking of scraping the surface…it only takes a couple of cutting comments directed at many of the Indiam SN bloggers to divert them from their cliched visions of spirituality and turn them into venom-spitting monsters. I suggest at least two sessions of dynamic a day for these people until they come in contact with a decent primal therapist, who can ween them away from their mother’s breasts.

  148. Swami Detective says:

This is the first and last lecture in the series of one at the Soho Nondualness Oneversity. It is located deep in a central African jungle next to the much loved Lords Resistance Army headquarters. The Oneversity has the largest canopy of its kind in the world, with no internal pillars other than tree trunks.

    Lecturer: Swamette Delectable

Course: Philosophy101: For dumb victims of a cunning Osho spiritual fraud.

Please note that other types of fraud have been dealt with in previous courses. Also, while we here at the Oneversity are primarily focused on direct realisation of the nature of stupid-mind, next door the Lords Resistance Army do a pretty mean encounter therapy group.

    Lecture 1:

Here is a little quote from Osho to give a balance to the article:

Just look silently and deeply and you will find your master everywhere. The whole existence will become suffused with your master. And of course the moment a master dies, he makes the whole existence sacred for his disciples. In the stones they will touch him, in the flowers they will see his colors, in the rainbows they will see his beauty. A disciple becomes so deeply immersed in the consciousness of the master, that when the master’s consciousness spreads all over existence, the disciple at least can see it. That’s why in Zen when a master dies the disciples dance; they make a ceremony of it, because their master is freed from all boundaries of body and mind. This freedom of their master is an indication of their own freedom. This freedom has to be respected, recognized, through their ceremony, through their songs and dances. [OSHO]

So the question that immediately comes to mind is whether this ceremony is meant to be a one-off or ongoing affair? (Perhaps a further reading beyond this quote would explain).

Osho has talked of always remembering him, of never forgetting him, or of always speaking of him as if in the present. Presumably if you follow this view of Osho’s you will consider that Osho meant an ongoing ceremony to respect and recognize the master as an ongoing gateway for the disciple.

Alternatively, Osho has spoken of the importance of forgetting him after he leaves the body. In this case, the view is that Osho is most essentially only consciousness, and being in the moment is the only true remembrance. You would likely interpret Osho’s quote as meaning having a one off ceremony as he leaves the body.

Perhaps it is true that Osho was speaking of a one off ceremony. Amrito would of course argue for this position. Osho was given a good send-off, although I would say it was rather hastily constructed. The irony here is that in accepting this position, and also accepting Amrito’s strong stance about the transcendence of the master/disciple relationship, we logically arrive at the point whereby Osho’s hasty little send-off was the last ever. I sure hope it was a good party. Buddha and Osho (and Amrito) have proclaimed the death of the master and disciple, and the birth of friendship. There are no more masters and no more disciples, and so there are no disciples to send off a nonexistent master.

It may be that an unenlightened friend sending off an enlightened friend has the same profound result. I do not know, and I do not know whether Osho spoke of this. As Osho explains above, it is the deep immersion of the disciple into the master’s consciousness that allows the disciple to “see it”. It seems to me that this deep immersion is not such a strong quality in a spiritual friendship between the enlightened and unenlightened.

If you are drawn into the Osho movement AOD (After Osho Died) then you have eternally missed out on the special ceremony. Bad luck to you, and good luck to all those people that have masters that will one day kick the bucket. Of course it is not really that special because all those other masters are really just friends of seekers.

I think it is very rude of the Osho movement to attract me so I miss out on the opportunity of attending a master’s ceremonial burial. I go to the resort, and there is not even a spiritual successor to Osho. The master is dead, and apparently so too is the master/disciple relationship. The best I can hope for is to hang out with some fellow unenlightened friends. If one of them dies, I suppose I can just participate in a normal ceremony and hope for the best.

So what are all these folk doing going to other living masters? What are they going to do when their master leaves the body? Why indeed, post 2500, are they even entertaining anything other than a good solid spiritual friendship? I consider it too much of a stretch to claim that they are all deceived of the nature of their relationship. On what grounds is such a claim made, even against the will and intelligence of both those involved? We can string some Osho quotes together and create grounds. On the other hand we can string some Osho quotes together and refute those grounds.

We have that Doc Amrito is acclaimed by many to be the greatest disciple (or devotee) of Osho’s. Yet, his philosophical view of Osho is one where there is no need to have any ongoing link between a physically expired master and a disciple. Also, as repeated by Amrito, and explained by Osho and apparently foreseen by Buddha, after some 2500 years, disciples are sufficiently spiritually mature to only need a friend rather than master on the path. These premises give Amrito the capacity to argue for dropping any links to Osho as a once living master. There is no longer any need for the physical and historic master as such because the master is no longer so important. People on the path have matured and are simply friends on the path. As will be shown, this view meets with difficulties.

Amrito himself, some 2500 odd years post Buddha, was heavily invested in a master/disciple relationship. So who is he to proclaim that the master/disciple relationship is dead after 2500 years? His own theory is denounced by his own example. On what experience has he to proclaim such things? Further, this supposedly great disciple was given a senior role in a group that was given a practical managerial scope to Osho’s legacy – the term vision carries with it a trip similar to the term inner rather than outer circle. The Inner-Circle is a group of Osho MBA style managers, as set up by Osho. It is not about spiritual direction or interpretation (or indeed misinterpretation).

Doc Amrito explicitly states his position that since Osho died, everyone should forget Osho, and move on. Before Osho left the body, Osho the master was the doorway. It was so for 2500 years, and for more before that. Osho leaves the body, and after an initial send-off party, the notion of master has become relegated to the archives of history. This defies some of Osho’s clearly held (and not nullified) teachings, and a wealth of living disciples and masters (dead and not). To deny all this, and to hold up just one of Osho’s viewpoints, is being fundamentalist. It is being radically absurd.

So forget Osho lived, and remember that you only need to be and have a friend on the path. Come to the resort and everything is here for you. All Osho’s meditation techniques and his words (heavily edited and not) are here. This is all you need. So who then is going to be my friend when I visit the resort?

The friend in question is not my fellow lost traveler. In the instance proposed, the relevant friend is the former master. I have over thousands of years matured in consciousness and so now the master can come down and meet me as a friend. There is no need for the master to be above me, and the master would anyhow never want to dominate or be superior. The position of power is only there for an historically genuine master because that is the practical reality of the ignorance of the seeker. This is all good in theory. It makes sense in some instances, depending on the particular qualities of the one who has already arrived, and the particular astuteness of the one who is yet to arrive.

The question I have is that now Osho has died, and now at the resort there is no master as such, then who is this enlightened friend that we hang out with there? Now here is where Amrito checkmated all the fools for the last two decades. Of course, he is that friend. The notion of friend on the path and arrived friend get conflated.

Even if we accept that Osho taught that the historical master/disciple relationship has now been transcended by mature friendship, it is not denying that there is a friend who has arrived. It is not about a bunch of blind buddies singing and dancing their way to wisdom (as opposed to oblivion). It is about an enlightened friend helping us on our way. Sure everyone may have friends that we consider wise and give as a helping and guiding hand when we are down. This is different to having a relationship with an enlightened person who is our friend.

So where is this friendly master in the set-up at the resort? Osho left no master, friendly or otherwise. Osho left no successor, and the Inner-Circle was limited to carrying out practical managerial tasks.

There are disciples that claim they are enlightened, and you can go visit them all over the world if you like (you even have an Osho quote to help you on your way, though that will not be the quote tossed around at the resort. Instead it will be slammed in all gossip and debate).

On Osho’s authority there are no friends on offer if you want to be in a mature friendly relationship with an enlightened person. If a person at the resort claimed to fit the requirements this is not surprising, but to do so implicitly and on the assumption that the authority comes from Osho is outright deception. How can anyone entertain an even basic level of friendship with a liar and a cheater?

Perhaps a troll through Osho’s archives can find argument for mature unenlightened friends helping each other to the final goal. It is a little like the saying that you can arrive even with a master who is only pretending to have arrived, so long as your intensity and trust is enough.

If you have a belief system that includes mature or evolved spiritual beings helping each other over the last step, why not. The only point is that in circumstances where misunderstanding could easily arise, this should be made clearly a part of the basis of the friendship. In this way deception, conflation, and abuse of power can be avoided.

I see nothing in Osho that says that after his death, all that is needed is unenlightened friends helping each other home. No one can claim to be anything other than an unenlightened friend at the resort. Yet what is on offer is apparently all that is needed for the seeker. You don’t need a master, especially a dead one. You do need a friend, and I suppose while an enlightened one would be good, a few old spiritual hacks will suffice. Is this how it is? Is this some new kind of spiritual revolution we are witnessing? Osho certainly never spoke of such an event unfolding from within. Certainly this is not his legacy.

Officially, Osho never left an enlightened master at the resort, and nor did he leave any enlightened friends. He only left a practical managerial group that was given a tempting title (the Inner-Circle). That means that according to Amrito’s version of Osho, there must be only unenlightened friends helping each other on the path, that this is all you need, and that this is the new spiritual revolution (for the next 2500 years).

Osho is supposedly kick-starting humanity again for another few millennia, and according to Amrito we are all much more evolved now. So humanity has evolved (and transcended the master/disciple relationship), yet there is no place in the new (thousands of years) long term plan for even one additional master, let alone a few (what to say of 10000?). Somehow a highly evolved bunch of unenlightened chums at the resort (and through its global outreach), are creating the spiritual impetus on planet Earth for the next few millennia.

The endpoint is a philosophical doctrine from Amrito that is based in part on Osho, and in whole makes absolutely no sense at all. It is a belief system riddled with holes.

Granted Amrito cannot make any legitimate claim to being an enlightened master (or friend) in the lineage of Osho – no one can. Granted Amrito cannot claim to be anything other than a friend – according to his own interpretation of Osho. So maybe he is simply claiming to be an unenlightened friend. If a friend is supposed to help me out because they have travelled far on the path, I would hope that they at least had acquired some basic mental faculties.

Ignoring of facts, selective use of facts, conflation of one’s own ideas with another persons, errors in logic, and contradictory outcomes….all this is supposed to tell me that I am to emulate the people and the movement that centre around the resort. Do you think I am stupid?

I have never heard in the history of spiritual enlightenment that it be equated with human stupidity. Yes I have heard that an enlightened mind is not necessarily evidence of spiritual enlightenment, but I have never heard before it ever uttered that the peak of spirituality fits hand in glove with mental debasement. I have heard spirituality enlightenment sometimes in marriage with physical poverty, but never before with mental poverty. Truly there is a revolution taking place at the resort, it has nothing to do with Osho, and I really would like to be a part of it.

So we have it that Osho said go to another master. I am sure you could find evidence of him sending people to other master’s while he was in the body. He spoke highly of J Krishnamurti, and of him being enlightened, for example. Osho also said to go to a living master after he died. Osho on the other hand said always remember me as your master (after the physical body dies).

At the resort it seems we have a twisted result full of contradictions like do not move on but forget me, and, find an enlightened friend who by the way must be unenlightened. It leaves people confused and without any clear spiritual direction. It means that whoever (wrongly) stakes spiritual claim to Number 17 and the Osho movement (ie the current Inner-Circle leadership) picks up the tab in the spiritual vacuum. This is a game they have played covertly and now overtly (with all the older sannyasins that did not want to find another master or special friend either exiled or having vacated in disgust), and is a clever spiritual fraud.

If I find a friend at the resort who reckons they are enlightened, that is a lucky break for me I suppose. However this would be like finding an enlightened friend anywhere. Such a person has no claims to advantage from being at Number 17 in the old days, or being an old disciple, or indeed being a member of the Inner-Circle (actually an outer practical managerial body). Has anyone been taken advantage of? Has any one been taken for a ride?

The thing I just do not get is who are we to be friends with at the resort? Fair enough that Amrito can provide his quotes to back up his position of having a friend rather than master. The trouble is, in selecting his quotes he has created a version of Osho that makes no sense – other than that he gets to play guru. Granted everyone goes on their own trip to some extent, but to create a version of Osho that is nonsensical, and then to try and railroad everyone down this narrow track is pure corruption of Osho, and also of human intelligence. To have actually achieved some success is testimony to great human cunningness and an abundance of general stupidity. I thought people were supposed to be smart these days?

Lokesh is an expert like most of the people with eyes as fixed as head lights of a car. Cars have also side lights and it is mandatory to use them but describing life, we simply forget to switch them on..
He sees clearly but only from his own prospective…i wonder when he will comprehend that people and cultures and civilisations are unique in their qualities and drawbacks..
Some where, it shows a very close mentality..almost like Auervedic doctors and homeopathic practitioners.

it will be much fruitful if he describes what western culture is lacking, where lies the dogmatic attitude in the scotish mentality…
If by living six years in India, he can see the shadow side of indians, it will be more honest if he tells something of that part where is born and brought up for 60 plus odd years..

  150. prem martyn says:

    lokesh…
your interpretation of the words that offend is oh so british….

and what in NLP they call a general equivalence..

your lnguage use is symbolic.. so is mine…

    period..

    ooops that sounds disgusting….

by not using fun words you privilege those you are confronted by them… including all forms of hierarchy through language…

troaming thoughts.. how unsatisfying.. must put a stop to it
as you got married you wouldn’t be thinking of other women any of the time would you….. not even a little bit… not even on the beach… in the club down the street…

well your wife is so lucky to be the object of your full and complete unwavering attentions ….

i have no intention of not perverting the course of psychological justice… in fact the idea that you can clean your life up.. is what fucks people over in the name of spirituality….
its worse than saying cunt…. much much worse….

now we have the presbyterian scots the english editor and the indian shantam on the same side… wait a minute.. it must be 1853.. here comes the band of the scots ing bringing in the dragoons.. and all the wives singing bringing in the sheaves… and look the fuzzy wuzzies are wearing trousers…how civilized…

transparency is the abandonment of attachment to the object at hand….
there is no better way i know.. growthful awareness certainly is shit compared to extreme indulgence of fact or idea…
if one of either party clams up… you know you have a problem..
but my solution is very much dependent on your own safety and context..
i only use whats relevant here.. ie language..
in person i may or may not get my cock out in conversation to prove a point… depending on any congruence with that person in context…
and its humour is defined by its enjoyment…

when i tell my girl to suck my cock you teenage arsed whore…. we both laugh….

i said sannyas news needs more sexually honest revelations from men.. and i meant it….
and by saying it i reveal my sexual mores…. the fact that anyone is protective of themselves or their girlies in public is completely understandable….

thats why i learnt that transparency of language use was and is the best defence of intention or motive when surrounded my scheister cock sucking nasty sannyassin men and women.. who would betray you because they can because..one’s head is up one’s arse with spiritual psycho babble…..

sannyas was about the profligate abuse of other’s good intentions to onew’s own advantage..
in such a minefield… outrageous language use was the only defence… it worked for me

its a bullshit detector.. and if it isn’t for you.. then at least we can part company sooner than later…at no great cost…

and shantam ….i lived it.. i’m not offering up my sensibilities as a ‘poor me i wish it had been different….’ or
    i want safer growth…

no… i want stupidity and senseless pointless outrageouse fun in life .. without the banner of growth being waved (at my or my friends disadvantage) and being around guru’s will not do that for you.. unless of course you are outrageous and get rid of the potential corruptive sedition at the outset…. by whatever means… but it might mean.. you only have true friends left and no ‘movement’

which is actually great great news…

tell me the last time a sannyassin lifted a finger of help in your direction.. only because you were both sannyassins.. and not because first you are human…
i don’t need a movement.. and stayed on through all sorts of shit in collective sannyas until i exhausted all its possibilities..
i am now a private and much more contented sexually sannyassin than ever the commune or growth or lokesh would have you believe….

try endless betrayal (both ways) through shifting conceptual allegiances…via sex…in growth, via religious love in a supposed trusting community….

or instead,, alternatively try being outrageous…and transparently accessible with equal access to language and its expression… you might find it creates deep affection as opposed to
loving your master and shitting on your friends….

hugs. and not nasty backstabbing ones

Swami detective, I find some of your views interesting enough but you are not such a great writer that you can hold my attention with an outpouring like your latest. I suggest learning how to be more concise with your words or else nobody will bother reading what you say because you come across like a wind bag.

Shantam, just for the record, I spent over a decade in India. I love the place, while acknowledging the fact that it is a filthy shithouse.

Martyn, my earlier comments about therapy etc was a bit of blah blah that I just tossed into the pot. I’m not sure if they actually reflect much about what I think and feel about such matters. I was just farting around and curious to see what kind of a response came back. I’ve done a fair bit of therapy in my time. I’d say most of it was really good for me.
If you’d read my books you would know that I really enjoy profane language. I grew up in the centre of Glasgow in the fifties. You think I grew up learning ‘how now fuckin’ brown cow’…while watching daft cunts slash each other’s faces with cut throat razors. You’ve got to be fuckin’ well joking, pal. I also enjoy well bred women who like to cuss and swear over cocktails down at the Jockey Club. The presbyterian scot…gimme a fuckin brek with yer sassenach fuckin cliches, ya bawbag.

and my repudiation to you lokesh was and is based on your declarations that you make … in generalised terms that purposely inferred me and my contributions…
so i returned the compliment by way of personalizing mine to you… which now has the resultant effect of congruent dismissal…from either side…

like the old adage of sannyas.. together.. apart…

still despite evidence to the contrary …it is possible to commune….

Now I understand all that stuff from that lawyer guy…what’s his name?…Shatama or something. I’m very sorry for any misunderstandings caused by my comments. I’ll never live this down.

  158. prem martyn says:

    chill

  159. shantam says:

    Sannyasins blog..
what people expect from a Sannyasins blog?
That you can describe Osho with all the profanity..
    I will say Shut up…

For decades i have seen, how the people felt offended to have all those passport control, aids test, frisking etc. in the ashram..They could not grasp how an ashram of a Master who teaches so much freedom can allow such restrictions..
As i wrote yesterday, farting is human but not at the restaurant table…
If the ripe old men have not learnt the basic nEtiquettes of life..i hope they get enlightenment on priority basis and disappear from the earth for ever, the way defective pieces are taken away from the shelves..

  160. prem martyn says:

i actually had a gun drawn on me just (no swearing involved) the other week.. whilst being out with my girl and her girl mate and their serbian male post 55 yrs chum.. it was as close to balkan humour as you can get.. he thought it was hilarious.. drinks all round.. i thought .. steady on ol chap.. whats the punchline… but wait its gets worse

my girls close friend…lost her father… he was shot dead by his best friend.. at the fathers birthday party….by accident…the friend shot a rifle in the air to celebrate .. they were in an hall auditorium… the bullet richoted…

so even fun has its limits…
i wouldnt rely on my philosophy of swearing in the balkans.. so dont try this at home boys and girls

here we go again, talking about therapy and meditations…. didn’t we cover these topics some time ago? Just as my ranting about dynamic and other osho meditations only scraping the surface and catharsis needed to be done for several hours a day at least, in particular for the indians? Rehashing shit is still rehashing shit… regarding sex, lokesh- guys who talk about it often aren’t getting enough, that point i agree, BUT many guys need to get laid more than once a day and EVERYDAY for it to be “enough”… Very few guys can therefore be called Satisfied- unless you’re in your 50′s-and older… those hormones do decrease with age…. and it’s ALL about hormones anyway…. toodles.

  163. prem bubbie says:

Shantam says- “farting is human, but not at the restaurant table.” you, sir haven’t sat with a bunch of sannyasins while eating- whether at a restaurant or communal kitchen table… goes to show that shantam hasn’t a clue about life with sannyasins. He’s just an idealist/fascist..

  164. prem bubbie says:

Hot news from the Spiritual Seekers Gazette tomorrow’s edition…

Radical Web Site Bans use Of the C**T word.

In a reversal of its former pledge to allow all manner of bad taste, the use of 4 letter words beginning with C and ending with T has been banned.
Despite last minute negotiations at the Orange cult headquarters , now renamed Orange C**t, no agreement could be reached as to how and when the order could be implemented.
Therefore c**tingency plans that were prepared by the members of the bored for just such an event were issued. From now on all 4 letter words of a C origin and T termination would be classified under the banning order borrowed from Her Majesty’s Government guidebook on C**tbacks in a Recession.
Confusingly a spokesman for the Co*ntryside Alliance has pledged to fight this attack on civil liberties, adding that its members had been balloted, although this group had no previous interest in spiritual matters, recent events had moved ‘ too far too fast’ , threatening even a headco*nt of its membership.

Phone lines at the Orange C*LT headquarters, Sunshine News, had been burning hot all day as calls were received from worried farmers from as far afield as Gujarat, who asked that they be excluded from the ban on these words as they could no longer take their goods to market .. or as one spokeman said ‘ we are no longer sure if we can put the c**t before the horse or after it.

Piles of the Oxford English dictionary are reported as being set alight outside the headquarters by a supportive crowd of enraged Indian and Scottish presbyterian onlookers, as they contained references to ‘chat’ ‘coat’ ‘can’t’ and ‘coot’(a protected species of duck)..a police spokesperson said innocent words are being vilified in senseless revenge attacks up and down the land in bookshops everywhere.

Salman Rushdie was unreachable by phone although an answer machine told callers to ‘get lost, you’re all a bunch of c**ts’.

Th official daily editor of Sunshine News (english edition) speaking last night at a news conference said ‘Really i never thought things would turn out quite so well like this , but had i realised the power of words I would have chosen a c**tainment policy. He was later arrested on charges of taking and disturbing the piss in Her Majesty’s Realm.

There seems to be a competition going on at sannyas news, who can use the most foul language and spill the most rotten mind. Bubbie, Prem Martyn and Lokesh are racing head to head to the finish line.
Great achievement, I am very impressed. Specially considering that you went to great distance spending years with the Master Osho to achieve
    this.

Shantam: to reach to the Master, be it Zen masters or others has never been easy. So why you cry that people have to show a passport etc?
To reach to the center of light you need to pass some hurdles, just to get rid of the curios folks. But the ultimate price of this is finding your self. You will never get that far staying in Freiburg and writing and whining on sannyas news.

  175. prem bubbie says:

P.M. You say- “… too many women too little time”.. you forgot to include the sheep.

  176. prem bubbie says:

P.M. that’s the whole idea about war… pent up sexual energies driving males nuts… koo koo… In the old days, on a drop of a dime, a guy would cut your throat, amass an army and go on a rampage… the brigands of yesteryear. robbing, pillaging, raping anything that moved and killing… ugly, smelly, guys, not getting pussy(what woman in their right mind would fuck one of those guys?)- except biker chicks- they’re just as smelly and ugly as their men. During world war 2, saltpeter was given out to all the troops so as to suppress the sexual urges and instead have the guys all hot and bothered and ready for battle. It’s been known for millenia , for a warrior not to have sex the night before battle, as it was known to decrease the male’s aggression… there, a little history trivia… now, avoid soy products and be a good boy.

Lokesh, the lecture for yesterday mornings Philosphy101 for nincompoops was from Swamette Delectable, not Swami Detective. Was I surprised that you were unable to comprehend? No, not at all. For your information, Swamette Delectable wrote of precise slightly overlapping circles, with a circular border. I did not see a single word too many, and nor too few. It would of course require sustained concentration and considerable intellectual grunt (and likely reflection) to understand any one of the paragraphs, let alone the entire piece.

Shantam, you were welcome at the resort last time you visited. I still have seen no reason to think that would have changed since then. The resort can even claim that they are broad minded, accepting such a dangerous rebel like yourself. You have in your own convoluted way made representations which run counter to the resort. Still, you have not presented anything original or unexpected. You could easily be earning bag loads of money from the regime for all I know.

Swamette Delectable, and I must say she really is delicious, just gave me a sneak preview of her next one lecture:

Osho left meditative therapies not therapists. The other therapies came from the West, and were based on various psychoanalytical figures – Freud, Jung, Adler, etc. They are on the periphery and have nothing to do with Osho’s legacy, and I propose they have little to do with his vision too. He did not leave an Osho University or education institution for psychotherapists. An institution of sorts was there, and still is, but its core element is external to Osho. Osho tinkered around the sides to help improve some Western therapies and some therapists (or at least he tried to). Now that he is less than a puff of smoke, he cannot do any more tinkering.

You can do your own tinkering based on your own favourite Osho quotes, but that is about it. In fact that is what is happening now. A selection of Osho quotes are mixed together and institutionalised as a course. You can do an Osho therapist training course, and you can even call yourself an Osho therapist, but it will not really be true. Ah yes, just another fraud committed in the name of Osho. You can even facilitate an Osho meditative therapy, but there is no real scope to demonstrate your psychotherapeutic prowess.

  188. Lokesh says:

Swami Det…’They are on the periphery and have nothing to do with Osho’s legacy, and I propose they have little to do with his vision too.’

Was these people got energy transmission or they are pretending so?

My system simply rejects the Decisions imposed by others in a dictatorial manner.
I am writing publicly after that and it is not fair from my side to go there and put them in an embarrassing position and also i don´t want to feel the wound of getting banned by the fellow travelers. It is good that difference remains only on principle grounds..
In this way neither they fall in my eyes nor i fall in their eyes..

It is my personal decision that i will enter the ashram campus only when the management system will change..
People on both side of the fences will mend their differences as it is a question of seeing the effectiveness of the teachings…

It is very true that i have not presented anything original or unexpected.
When you want to present the facts straight, when you want to present the evidence and testimony with utmost honesty and clarity..when you want to write without fear or greed than life is always simple, it has no cleverness or smartness..

  209. Lokesh says:

Shantam: Lokesh, Why not start from the easiest ones. For example what is the legacy of Punja ji?

It is kind of strange hearing such a question from you, seeing as how you have nothing but shit to toss at the old boy any time his name comes up. Now you show that you have not the faintest idea about who H W L Poonja was.
I find all this ‘legacy’ stuff a bit daft. I mean to say, what was Osho’s legacy? Everyone talks about it but nobody seems to have any clear cut idea about what Osho’s legacy is…well, at least as far as SN goes. Perhaps, going by this, part of Osho’s legacy was to leave behind a lot of mixed up and confused people who spout all manner of shit in his name, while remaining completely ignorant about life’s more important issues.
Papaji was a disciple of Ramana and therefore was a practitioner of self enquiry and eventually taught self-enquiry. There is no franchise or legacy that I know of. The idea being to actually meditate as opposed to simply talking about it. Papaji suffered from ill health towards the end of his life and therefore had to stay put in Lucknow. Had this not been the case he would have continued to travel and avoid the possibility of gathering followers. He openly declared that if there was a spiritual teacher gathering a lot of people round him it might be a good idea to avoid that person. Papaji was, as far as I can discern, not interested in becoming a big shot on the spiritual scene. He was very good at teaching and helped many people find their way.
Shantam, the fact that only three books were published in his name is not particularly relevent and the fact that you bring it up says more about yourself than anyone else.

Yes, I visited Loch Ness a few times, Sufi. My maternal grandmother had a love affair with Aleisteir Crowley way back when, during the time he lived in a house on the banks of Loch Ness and my granny, who was 19 at the time was working as a cleaner for Mr Crowley, became his scarlet woman for a couple of years. She even got mentioned a couple of times in one of his books.. Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin fame, eventually bought the place and it still has a bit of a weird vibe, according to a friend who was there some years ago. So there you have it, Sufi.

  216. Lokesh says:

Here is a quote from my second book. It is a work of fiction.

Din Attar was my favourite Persian poet by far. A spiritual subversive, he broke with the Sufi tradition of secrecy and openly expounded mystical doctrines about oneness that clashed with Islam’s extreme dualism. This was encapsulated in Din Attar’s most famous pronouncement: ‘I am the Truth’. That declaration was judged by the intolerant religious justice system of the time to be iniquitous and, just like your prophet Jesus Christ, he paid for it. In his case by being imprisoned for eight years, after which time he was condemned to death, whereupon he was flogged, mutilated and then what remained of his still living body strung up on a gibbet to be decapitated. If nothing else, this serves to illustrate that not only is a prophet rarely recognised in the land of his birth, but also he is, more often than not, vilified and then crucified for his revelation by the very people he sought to enlighten.

Exactly. And then this; ‘I was in the front row in osho’s last days.’
Thinks he’s a bit of a spiritual somebody?
Right again, Watson. Delusions of grandeur certainly. Probably and Indian going by his phonetic spelling and grammar.
Yes, Holmes, I do believe your deductions are correct. But what about this: ‘who was pagal and magal baba?…. and I’m not talking about the wrong grammar.
Mmmmmh, I see what you mean. Possibly a reference to the Pagal Panthis and their armed struggle against their oppresors…
    Who were?
Watson, you really must brush up on your history. The British Raj of course.
Oh Course, Holmes, of course. How could I have missed that. So we have an armchair revolutionary with illusions of his level of spiritual understanding.
Yes, Watson, that’s about it. Damaged goods by the looks of it.
    What do you suggest?
My dear Watson, this is a time to stay calm, be alert and watch the ego.

Just remembered the example given by Osho many times during 30 years of His public talks, ” Life is like a Veena, the Guitar, some instrument with strings. Too tight and the strings will get broken, (Osho resort is one such fine example)
Too light, if you are not willing or unable to tight them, loose strings will not be able to create music.(Sannyasnews is such fine example).

  231. Swami Detective says:

Hey Green Man, which planet did Osho land on?

  232. Swami Detective says:

Shantam you say four years before you were a regular at Number 17. Since you have developed your pious opposition to the leadership, it appears that the stance includes not going to the resort. You have made such a claim before. It is also interesting to note that as well as differences, you have a lot of fundamental similarities with the resort gang. Do you really think they would feel uncomfortable banning you? Anyhow, you have been writing prolifically against the regime for what, around a year and a half? I don’t know, with your anti-resort position and all that, and likely being banned, perhaps you will never get to go to the resort.

Something does not quite fit with what you claim. After your recent visit to Pune last year you say:

    shantam prem // 9 Mar, 2010 at 4:51 pm

First of all Chetna, it is not true that old sannyasins are not allowed in Pune. I was not banned, being an Indian and having flat in Pune, it was not difficult to pay the ticket and enjoy the environment, but the Being was saddened to see the unwanted changes imposed.
    [End Quote]

After all that writing on Sannyasnews you went to Pune and were not banned. So presumably, against the odds you found out that you were not banned. I suppose that means you went to the resort? Well it certainly seems so when you claim to have quite easily acquired the ticket. I am assuming that would be an entrance ticket? My reading of your statement is that you even enjoyed the environment. I do not think it too much of a stretch to assume the environment so easily enjoyed be none other than the resort? You claim to have seen some unwanted changes imposed. You would have had to have been inside the resort to see the unwanted changes, no? Sorry to here about your Being though.

You might swiftly claim that you meant when you went four years ago. The only thing is your reason for being banned has been stated as your epic word count winning generally incomprehensible confusion on the sannyas web. This all started, what, less than a year before your visit?

Is this the trick of the politician? Stand up proud and show your face to the world, yet behind the scenes speak dishonestly? If you have an anonymous internet face yet utter the truth, such an abomination of character. At least that is your position it seems. Only authentic beings like yourself display an authentic id-card, and then spin lies and untruths whilst claiming great sincerity. What is your real story?

  242. Swami Detective says:

  243. Swami Detective says:

Sheela and her gang suffocated Osho’s intentions. What about Swami Loner? Give the guy an axe, after he does 10,000 days of dynamic meditation.

  244. Swami Detective says:

    And the tree stands firm.

  245. Swami Detective says:

Lokesh, Osho’s legacy is whatever that is clearly identifiable as being made by Osho or owned by Osho. His vision on the other hand is perhaps better explained by metaphor. Osho was driving a fucking big fancy car. His vision is the powerful spotlights shining for centuries down the highway. If you wanted you could take a back seat ride.

When Osho grew weary he parked the fucking big fancy car, turned off the lights, popped the boot, pulled the keys out of the ignition and threw them away, got out, and vanished into the thin air of that silent night. He left his legacy (his tools or possessions) in the boot.

That’s it. No more powerful spotlight. No more vision. And how would you be, sitting in a fucking big fancy car by the side of the road in the middle of the night? What any dishonest person would do is hotwire the car and stick your own spotlights out front.

If you want to know about that lecture from Swamette Delectable which was a little too dense for your attempted skim-read, it is like this. Amrito is driving the fucking big fancy Osho-mobile down the road at breakneck speed with his own low-beam dim lights, and Swamette Delectable simply describes the carnage.

Of course you are such a happy go lucky chap that you would like to know more about the upside of Osho’s vision. If you see parts of what Osho did that is your good fortune. If however you want specifics of Osho’s vision, there is only one concrete option. What Osho left behind for people to use (his legacy – signature and other paintings, meditations, meditative therapies, audio and audio/visual recordings of talks, transcribed talks, his unedited books, his Samadhi, other Samadhis like his mom and pop’s, the Buddha Hall demolition site….and now the list starts going more into debatable territory) can be employed to realize what he saw.

Osho’s vision can be realised through the use of any of his tools for growth and transformation. Let’s say someone does dynamic meditation regularly for a period of time. If this person transforms and literally arrives at a new look-out on life’s superhighway, then what they see there will be what Osho saw for them. This is the realisation of the dream and the verification of the vision. If a group of people, or if a mass of people, arrive in greener pastures or at a profound rest-stop, then I suppose you start to get the idea of what Osho’s vision was.

Osho did not find a being of sufficient standing to carry his flame. Instead he said to all, including those that may have been enlightened, if you want to indulge in matters of the spirit, go find your own pad and drive your mini-moke, mustang, or tractor. He said his Rolls-Royce was his and his only, and that is why it is parked up in his garage in Lao-Tzu, with the engine removed.

He left his tools in the boot, and that is his legacy. Unfortunately the people chartered to take practical measures to make available these tools have thrown some of them out, used some others to smash his pagoda, and used the remainder to hotwire the Osho-mobile.

  246. Lokesh says:

Back to Pantheism for Swami Det…its that old higher abstractiom syndrome again. When in doubt go for all oneness.

  247. shantam says:

Detective, thanks for digging the ten months old post.
It did not suggest that i was in the ashram in the recent past.
Last time i was in Pune in January 2010 for five days, first time in 25 years i did not go to the ashram. Just a coconut drink on the back road facing Lao Tzu house.
It had sense of relief and sense of grief, grief in the sense..Roads around the ashram are still green but they are not filled with sannyas laughter…
Just few years before..on the same roads..one could get the feeling as if Koregaon Park is the new age spiritual and cultural capital of the world..

I was thinking to find out whether i have still the gate pass of the ashram with me, from the sticker i could have told when was the last time..but remembered, that souvenir also had gone in the recycling plastic. vaguely i remember, single day entry was 250 Rupees for Indians and five days sticker was one thousand rupees…

Yes..it is true, fundamentally i have no differences with Jayesh and Amrito..they can stay in their executive position for the life, but should not take the space from other people, which they have done quite brutally.
SO some sorry feeling is needed… This life or next..and if redemption happens…enjoy the eternal life…
Practically also difference is very small yet very big..
It is like they are offering 100% pure orange juice..and common sense requires that pure raw oranges should also be made available, and the possibility to fetch one´s own oranges from the trees….and to plant new varieties…a continuously growing farm house..

If they are unable to do this at Pune, the way it was during Osho´s life time..Than they should leave the place gracefully.. New team can take over..and will supply them also the oranges…for their juice plant somewhere in London, New York or Edmonton.. They will still remain the part of sannyas history and future.

  248. Swami Detective says:

Lokesh, did you read the quote that kicked off Swamette Delectable’s lovely lecture? It provides an account of what you call pantheism which is nothing to do with abstraction, and nothing to do with pantheism.

  249. Lokesh says:

Swami Det: thanks for your interpretation of Osho’s vision..not entirely coherant to the unenlightened it seems to say that Osho’s vision is a….a…personal matter? Ehm…do you by any chance work in a garage?

  250. Lokesh says:

Shantam: One of Osho’s fave quotes ran along the lines of not being able to stand in the same part of the river twice. Perhaps this is a part of Osho’s vision you might have overlooked.

Can you relate to this, Martyn? Weren’t we all there mainly for the boy-girl scene, and kept going there even if never worked right. Be honest, guys, weren’t you watching the woman or the man even when you were “meditating”?

  256. Swami Detective says:

Lokesh I say that there is no longer an Osho vision. Either he took it with him, or the lights just went out.

There can be no interpretation of Osho’s vision because there is no Osho vision.

    re manipulative ideological sannyas

in over thrirty years since i first took sannyas.. i never heard of a guy being friends with his exgirls new man…and same goes for women to woman stuff..
    my experience is not statistical
and is probably very suspect based as it is on my prejudice..

but there it is…sannyas is a snormal as the world is .. no great connectedness all over the shop.. and i’m happy to be proved wrong..

and what we see here on the limited sn exchange is the typical in-fighting that featured as part of the assertive self development that characterized all of thisexperience of devoted others up to 2006 when i left any further contact.
infighting that assumed personal growth .. but was closer to a minefield as a metaphor

I submit this is only 50 percent of the story…a lot even most of the non sexual part of it was fun..otherwise why bother…. but the sex stuff was a disaster…and it didnt need to be.. a lot of us were already willing and able to play the big game of experimentation… but what we got was freud and jung instead.. via osho.. and therapists…

but i contend that instead of establishing mutual ethics about the common enemy.. ie the state, religion ,politicians, education, the family, marriage and even private property… the opposite is the case…

scrambling around between each other looking for ideological semantic purity, with only fresh air to fight over…and words to fight with….

the days of indulgent mutual support were at best threatened by the ‘mea culpa’ (my fault) party cadres of osho psychology.. who preferred and still do to freudianly use language to sabotage any threat .. or at best to promote their singular adulation of psychic devotion…. so that even tying your shoelaces or shopping or anything you like would be riven with competitive ‘insight’ via a hierarchy of values….

the solution in my case was
    1) to leave
    2) to enjoy fun as the beginning the end and the middle of being alive…

i can still enjoy osho.. and would happily dance the night away with friends.. indeed i have….but ther’s always the psycho element hanging around softies.. and for that i’m not laying my penis on the line anymore…

fun.. the giggling part of osho…
its art .. stripped of having any point.. other than to foster collaboration…

or religion stripped of achievement and purpose..

i would much rather discuss water purification in the context of water aid and measures to the third world.. than as a feature of an expensive psycho spiritual resort long past its sell by date, to reflect on detectives outpourings…

i would even appear on collaborative blog for others of the movement..who really would like to share their diaries on a day to day level…a network of networkers… that would bring in tales from the frontline.. complete with music , vids and piks…
it happens on other specialist sites .. why not here?

right now i’m lucky to have time on my hands..but i don’t post here because of a wide choice of blogs… i wish there were… with a laptop its all to oeasy to click and contribute.. but thats all it is.. something in my browser that i can fiddle with…

but really i would do better to ban myself.. and go for a walk instead…

the people who would most benefit from a kick up the spiritual arse are precisely all the teachers and work place bastards who make ordinary life so hard from such an early age…

and as an alternative what do we offer as a cult…. what mutually sponsoring world have we gallantly created for ourselves….

    £350 weekends of experience..

    and star trek type robes

and not offending anyone with language use…

    wow ..brilliant

Shantam, I visited the web site. Fascinating stuff ! It’s not accurate you know. Sannyasnews is priceless !

  263. shantam says:

Parmartha, Sannyasnews is your baby..so it is priceless.
Sannyasnews is your flower at the feet of the master, so it is priceless.. .99P flower beocmes priceless.

Things which are priceless are also very fragile..
That is the paradox of life..
Just listening Osho saying, ” My sannyas is a very paradoxical . You surrunder to me in order to become free. …Free from every scripure, every dogma, every philosphy. and i am included in it.”
Sannyas is as paradxical. Should be as life itself is. Than it is alive.
    (Art of dying..58th minute)

Take care that this priceless thing does not get crushed under the feet of the dogs.
Who says there are no streetddogs in the west.!

  264. shantam says:

But as far as worldy matters are concerned. As far as money matters and human instincts are concerned…
Any pornographic website has million times more traffic, and therefore more price tag than any spiritual growth orineted site..
They are very expansive.though the available stuff is free…but surely not priceless…

    grey backs…

gorillas are 100 per cent vegetarian extremely sociable and non violent.. not a single death or damage to any troop member as a result of in fighting has ever been recorded….

i would welcome your posts if you showed some consideration for others like gorillas do….
unfortunately eight patrol members of the forest rangers were killed yesterday… several years ago the oldest gorilla and six other were machine gunned to death …pressures on these beautiful wild animals are enormous as the forest is in war torn congo….

if you feel to contribute to replacing the laptops and radio equipment destroyed in these attacks please visit the website of the relevant save the goriila website…and to supporting the family members of the murdered rangers then please contribute.. every dollar helps…

just find a bona fide gorilla support organization online ..

    its very spiritual work…

Shantam is back with his references to viruses and bacteria. the crown prince of delusion.

  269. prem bubbie says:

“A small voice of sanity under the name of diane…”- says shantam… so shantam you have finally admitted all the shit you’ve been posting was just that- SHIT…. I bow to you o Awakened One!!!

  270. prem bubbie says:

Diane- this issue of guys and girls becoming sannyasins just for the fucking and sucking is OLD NEWS… we’ve discussed this many times before… now move on little donkey.

  271. prem bubbie says:

Shantam- your calculating mind is at it again… with no success with your complaints about using real names or the resort management, you now run around looking for ammunition for your latest complaint- Sannyas News revenue. trying to connect the dots as to why sannyasnews isn’t making money, and that sannyasnews should be making money…. Well chump-change, what business is it of yours if Parmartha and co. don’t want to make money running sannyasnews… it’s THEIR time and energy, NOT yours, Asshole!!!

  272. prem bubbie says:

You’re just a pathetic fucking Nazi… go goosestep off of Mount Arafat.

  273. prem bubbie says:

P.M. you say gorillas are 100% vegetarian, but the males will fuck each other in the ass if there are no females around(a well documented fact), and i can only take that one step further, if there were no vegetation around, they would eat meat to survive and perhaps become cannibals. You still don’t understand Mother Nature on this planet…. still in denial.. i new a woman sometime ago.. she had two young puppy dogs, she was a vegetarian. she tried raising her dogs as vegetarians.. their bodies became distorted, puny, very sickly. Both dogs would run over to the neighbors house to steal from those dogs food bowl(full of meat). The woman was stubborn, believing dogs should not eat meat either.. Now, since when do dogs have a “Conscience”? Morals- warped or otherwise? Nature is nature, genetics are genetics. Denial is Denial… stop being in denial, dude.

  274. shantam says:

After Tunisa, it is the turn of Egypt.
God willing long time dictator of Egypt will also see the sun setting on his regime…

Through the news we all see, how the power corrupt people and we think it is always on the top…

The cruelty, brutality and ugliness on the bottom level is as pathetic..sometime even more..

If someone has not seen the cockroaches in the gutter of human civilisation,
Please see this site… Coco roaches have quite exotic names….

  275. shantam says:

    The blame goes to

  277. prem martyn says:

    bubbie…re gorillas…..its about gorillas
and i wasn’t talking about the whole of human history..
and it was not a bandwagon post…

you think i don’t know of psycho veggies.. i worked at peta i told ya…lets not swap looney tunes.. theres enough here already…

but hey old pune had seventh day adventists all veggies who ran the health food shop.. without them on mg road i would never have been able to buy supplies of tofu in 1980 .so sometimes.. even loonies do good deeds.. despite disagreement on ‘stuff’…

‘bad’ people can sometimes do great life saving things..in certain situations when their humanity is called upon.. its all contextual really…

if you don’t care ..i’m not exactly at the edge of my keyboard reevaluating my modus operandi…or yours…

Shantam, have you ever seen a copy of our magazine?

  301. prem martyn says:

dum de dum de dum de dohh..
i can respond to myself from now on…thanks sufi… you’ve broken the chain of actually thinking the read responses were anything more than internal in me… they always were and now even more so…

we are all discarnate bodies here so it just makes the arrow down button work harder…a strange form of blogging…still i’m flexible….and i have very fast reading eyes that bounce away from comments i have no interest in reading…

    anyway..

out of the last five days contributions i’ve made i ‘ve actually really enjoyed myself as usual.. makes me think the ol performer in me should entertain more …i kinda keep my hand in here ..
and frank really has gone hasn’t he…

it reminds me of the time i went to see mooji last year.. when these newbie seekers stepped up to the microphone.. and mooji went through the routine.. one woman was seeing so much abot her divorce.. another woman was understanding so much about her fear of.. i can’t remember exactly .. tea leaves or something momentous.. ther was a faint wiff of .. well okay an overpowering smell of patchouli blossom in the air.. and this went on for hours.. it seemed like.. all in hushed reverentialo silence at the exchanges…

and all i could think of saying was.. mooji.. who gives a shit
i mean he’s a nice guy… but he ‘s wasting his time with the audience of asexual muesli eating freaks….

and so i say the same forthe amount of times i sat in a circle on a cushion with others and thought to myself.. if only i had a gun…

which is when i discovered the power of expletives….

but as i said i know parmartha and dharmen and they know me.. and out of deference to their intentions here i won’t use the V2 actung schnell blogger rude word dispersal method in the formula that would deal with uttter codswallop…

just know that in spiritiual seekers questing everyone should have one…its not necessarily naughty or silly to use .. just depends if you know how and when…

as i said its all a matter of context…

Martyn, yeah, right now I’m downloading psychedelic tunes from the internet. Raining like crazy on Ibiza. You would not believe how retro my music tastes can be. I love twangy guitars and fender amps sixties style. I am working on a collection of cds for a client. Listening to a track called ‘Voices Green and Purple’ by the Bees. Sounds like the soundtrack for one of Sufi’s nightmares…fuckin’ awful. Now onto Paul Revere and the Raiders…really groovy, man.
Have not gotten around to checking the tv. I am working a lot in my studio for an exhibition of paintings. Life is most enjoyable on a rainy day on Ibiza.

I hope the western sannyasins who are still wearing their 1978 glasses, will look at the changing world around them.

Who has ever thought that India will beat all the doomsday predictions in just couple of years and will become talk of the world..

The India of today is the India Osho envisioned in late 1960´s……India is adopting the western progress with precisssion..somewhere west is adopting their inner potentials too..
As i see in Germany..an average German seeker is much more authentic than those people who became sannyasins..
Why sannyasins with best possible help are lacking…may be it is almost like the old story of hare and the tortise.

    Aesop’s Fables for Children

    The Tortoise and the Hare

    An Aesop Fable

One day a hare was bragging about how fast he could run. He bragged and bragged and even laughed at the tortoise, who was so slow. The tortoise stretched out his long neck and challenged the hare to a race, which, of course, made the hare laugh.
“My, my, what a joke!” thought the hare.
“A race, indeed, a race. Oh! what fun! My, my! a race, of course, Mr. Tortoise, we shall race!” said the hare.

The forest animals met and mapped out the course. The race begun, and the hare, being such a swift runner, soon left the tortoise far behind. About halfway through the course, it occurred to the hare that he had plenty of time to beat the slow trodden tortoise.

“Oh, my!” thought the hare, “I have plenty of time to play in the meadow here.”
    And so he did.

After the hare finished playing, he decided that he had time to take a little nap.
“I have plenty of time to beat that tortoise,” he thought. And he cuddle up against a tree and dozed.

The tortoise, in the meantime, continued to plod on, albeit, it ever so slowly. He never stopped, but took one good step after another.

The hare finally woke from his nap. “Time to get going,” he thought. And off he went faster than he had ever run before! He dashed as quickly as anyone ever could up to the finish line, where he met the tortoise, who was patiently awaiting his arrival.

  320. Lokesh says:

You were doing fine, Shantam, until you hit the Aesop Fable switch and that sent all the readers into a deep sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  321. shantam says:

One day a hare was bragging about how fast he could run. He bragged and bragged and even laughed at the tortoise, who was so slow.

Is it not true for Sannyasins as a group.
Always looking at the others with pity because they had the trump card called Osho….
Still today it is the same, the way Sannyasins distribute Osho quotations at facebook…with this feeling as if they know all, what is worth knowing..about love or meditation..

Still today it is the same cockiness in this so called Resort…by adding Spa and bar facility the inheritors of Osho property think they have tunred the wheel of the religion..

  322. prem bubbie says:

Run Shantam, Run!!! you slow sack of shit….. I mean your head is a sack of shit, slow, slow, constantly trying to figure out were the fantasy ends and reality begins….. fortunately for a tortoise it doesn’t have that problem, a person who’s head is full of shit does.

    time 4 new thread..

i suggest the title ‘ did the ;bombay shuffle ‘ ever help realise Osho’s dream.

or ‘perhaps less controversially ‘ self discovery and large doses of mogadons’

…and how oshonews.. (the newish website of all things sunnyarse)
has been tested in doctors and dentists surgeries’ waiting rooms up and down the land as a powerful alternative anaesthetic.
For technical reasons (including retribution ) I am unable to make the appropriate, and gossipy type comments that would result in libel action from my 30 years of insider experience.
But out of a recent comparison test over 98per cent of shoppers when given a copy of oshonews thought that it was the new IKEA catalogue.

when maneesha comes to ashburton to discuss shallow breathing and inheritance…. i wonder if any of the hushed assembly will have realised that after years of themselves being less than ‘drop dead gorgeous’ (go to Totnes ,just go… if in any doubt and compare it to anywhere where genetic inbreeding has not taken hold ) , they have now simplified matters to just the first two words….

there are parts of london lke chelsea and knightsbridge and marylebone which contain more than the average of hyper clean empty synthetic art galleries for the local inhabitants to feel the ‘raw power of artistic beaut’y .. served up in purchaseable bourgeois amounts…to decorate their zen style luxury apartments to remind them of stillness and the empty mirror within…

.i wonder if industrial strength bleach has been used as an panacean editorial room formula for the whole of sannyas as seen through these well meaning versions around the world of osho’s vision…
if i see one more photo of a dewdrop on a lotus flower to represent my own life’s oeuvre i shall take the ikea -type catalogue home….. and explete profusely….

    :)

  326. Lokesh says:

Vert clever. Martyn. IKEA catalogue…so good I wonder if you nicked it from somewhere…or is that just a reflection of my plagaristic self….honest your honour I learnt it from Osho.

  327. prem martyn says:

  330. prem martyn says:

    and here’s a tip…

despite acres of quotable quotes, and hugely successful ‘ lyrical waxing’ from the sanctities of ‘ aware ..and in the radical moment’ of sannyasinhood….
    then….
nobody from the amorphous diaspora of colliding mopeds , often called the ‘chosen few’ gives a flying fuck about your awareness levels unless

    1) they are naturally bigger than their own Cultivated version..( in which case you’ll be the victim of jealous humourlessness.)

    2) your awareness levels are smaller than theirs in which case you’ll be spending time in the adulation department looking for improved techniques….

    :)

  331. prem martyn says:

    or maybe another thread..

  332. Gandhi says:

Shantam, you are glorifying India. Yes India has more cars and there is more money floating around. Still it sucks, it is dirty, you cannot breathe the air and it is just too overpopulated to clean up the mess.
I agree some change is better then nothing, still…. go to Mumbai and have a look around.

To the original thread: so during the last hour with Osho there were Jayesh and Dr. Amrito. Rumors are that Osho asked Amrito …what exactly? Maybe this explains his sorry state of affairs (drunkard/ smoker) and the brotherly connection to Jayesh. Maybe something deep inside is there disturbing him. Probably we will never know, until he himself decides to spill the beans.

  333. Lokesh says:

Laser beans. Maybe there are no beans to be spilled. What difference does any of this actually make to your life? It really is history.

luckliy its a fleeting thought… its a bit tricky though… you have to watch it.. and not actually do anything at all that could be called meditating…

  340. prem martyn says:

although going round ikea for 45 minutes does leave you in a trance….and reading their catalogue can leave you with unfulfilled desires..

we will be looking at washing machines in catalogues and imagining how good it feels to have an economy wash fulfilment…

of course i knew that a self assembled unit was the way to go.. i just had trouble with making the instructions intelligible…so really leaving people to wander aimlessly from room to room without a catalogue or instructions is the most effective way to create an altered state…
