I really should get the CSYN album on cd. I think I might still have it on tape somewhere , but , I have not had a decent tape deck for some time. So my tapes have remained in storage for several years actually. I have built up most of my music collection on cd, from what I used to have on tape . But I still have some really great music on tape that I haven’t listened to for some time . Once I recorded over a Barry Long cassette , ‘How to stop thinking ‘ , with a deep ambient mix that was being played live on a radio station (pirate?cant remember) – anyway , it came out incredible , because at the beginning it has Barry Long starting in his Australian accent : “ Stop Thinking Now . Just stop ….’ and then instead of the rest of his talk it runs into this incredible ambient mix .
And on the other side of the tape , it was an Osho discourse , one of the zen ones, with that Zen seeress, you know the one that had a vision that Gautama the Buddha was using Osho’s body as a vehicle. She was visiting the ashram , and singing in Japanese at the beginning of Osho’s discourse . Anyway , on this side of the tape, I recorded over with an ambient mix , but you can still here her Japanese singing in the backround . Brilliant.
I’ve just remembered ….it wasn’t one tape with Barry Long and Osho on the other side , it was two . Two tapes which I had borrowed from someone who didn’t want them anymore. One was Barry Long on one side , and something else on the other . The other , was Osho in a Zen discourse , with the Japanese singing at the beginning.
I used to listen to this radio station in Brighton, really a good one, which had excellent mixes on different days such as Latino , Salsa , African , Techno , Reggae , etc. And sometimes I would like a mix and want to tape it. So I would pop in a cassette and tape it. Barry Long, got recorded over by LTJ Bukem , drum and Bass, and an ambient mix of some sort or another . But it was great , because it had his voice at the beginning, “Stop thinking now! “ . The other one , was a particularly good deep ambient mix on the radio which I thought was worth recording . But I had ran out of tapes , so I just popped in the Osho tape, and recorded – but somehow the Japanese singing could still be heard feintly in the backround – but it made an excellent mix when the beats started. Also , sometimes you can vaguely make out Osho’s voice booming in the backround .One of the tracks in the mix was a remix of Nicollettes ‘no goverment’ by Biosphere.

Cool . Thanks . I certainly do like some of those bands. But I don’t know all of them.
As it happens , I got into listening to The Great Society for several days in a row last week.
Still like Buffalo Springfield a lot. and the CSYN album.

I do have a Neil young greatest hits cd, which has a couple of CSNY . Helpless, Ohio.
You can get that CSYN album on Vinyl, or you could. I think Sainsburies started a series , or was it Tesco.
Amazon have the vinyl for £47, and cd for a fiver.
I don’t have a turntable for a long time.
