SannyasNews Guest Editorial
The Delhi people’s advertisement below surprised the SN collective ! One cannot really figure it out. Why should “Osho Freinds Foundation”, presumably a new name?, want to hire a place in Pune to “celebrate” Osho’s Enlightenment? It is clearly political, and a provocation to “Osho International”, the official organisation that Osho left in place when he died.
The “Celebrations” begin to another age, and given they were dropped a while back by the “official” organisation why cannot that be accepted?
As for doing this in German Bakery Lane, Pune, well it clearly reflects the provocative and political nature of those involved. They want to take over the present Resort, and so they hire a place a little away to act as pepper spray against those who are still nourished by the organisation that Osho left behind…
And the contribution…. 800 Rupees…. Double click if you want to read the detail
Sorry, I feel it is very biased and judgmental editorial. No sense at all to be objective and investigative. It shows closed-circuit mind, that is why a very funny credit to “SannyasNews Guest Editorial”?
Mulana hall – That`s the Muslim gaff down near the burning ghats. I don`t know if they`re Sunni-asins or Oshi`ites.
What`s next? Celebrating jihadi sannyasins henna-ing their beards red and chopping the ends of their dicks off?
Religion, eh?
Bloody `ell!
Good local knowledge, Frank…A Mosque!! My God!
It`s not really a mosque – it’s just a hall named after a Muslim guy, I think.
If I had to choose religious sides I`d be down the burning ghats with a bottle of the old amber nectar and a plate of dead man`s leg.
Ah, the burning ghats, brings back fond memories. Like the time a girlfriend put a half-burnt human head in my duffle bag. Those were the days.
Now, it’s politics…strictly for the chairmen of the bored. Back in the day, the only politics we were interested in was the politics of ecstasy.
If politics of ecstasy had evolved the brain, the capacity to solve the conflicts would have come by its own. Time has shown, so-called ecstasy was momentarily thrill, it has not evolved into a New Man, better man.
This cynical approach of Lokesh and Frank simply show they were customers but not shareholders. People who live in rented homes care not what kind of fluctuations are taking place in the real estate sector.
Religion = Real estate.
Couldn`t have said it better myself.
Shantam, why not speak for yourself and change the beginning of your conclusion to: “I have not evolved into a New Man, better man”? That way everyone will know you are actually speaking the truth.
Shareholders? What a dumbed-down mentality. Were Osho alive he would surely have chuckled at such a ridiculous notion.
Perfectly correct, Shantambhai!
In world of spiritual market it is all about location, location, location!
Osho purchased Samadhi in peaceful location, close to good mystery schools in sought-after area with potential for expansion, but unfortunately He invested heavily in sub-prime cynical judgmental whiteskin baboons looking for quick bargains with no onward chain!
It is tragic that true disciples such as yourself, who have invested and borrowed heavily from master`s energy, become absurdly inflated then inevitably crashed, have been left claiming spiritual housing benefit with no chance of ever getting on enlightenment ladder!
Also, egotistical whiteskin baboons at Resort have made it impossible for first-time buyers to find their spiritual home!
Ecstatic moments with gora girls have not evolved the brain: Time has shown, so-called ecstasy was momentary thrill leaving brownskin disciple with marginally less functioning brain than half-burnt human skull from burning ghat in Scottish baboon`s handbag!

Hari Om!
Yogi, brilliant!
Parmartha, my dear, are you getting stiff with the age? Why don´t you google what is this place, Maulana Azad Hall? Instead of this you are gushing like an underage girl as if drunkard Frank has written some information about the planet where O resides.
It also shows deep down you have a firm belief, the occupiers of Osho Property in Pune are on right footing.
Somewhere it hurts my sensibilities as you are one of those who want to understand the reason behind the collapse of Rajneeshpuram. Can you accept, just by disappearance of Sheela does not eradicate the symptoms of the disease?
Symptom is who has the stick has the cow i.e. might is right. Fortunately, in the world of religions and emotions, it is not the might but the sharing which makes surroundings bloom.
“who has the stick has the cow”
Less of the Punjabi marriage counselling, please….
Here is a recent writing about the Resort. Would people like Shantam, Keerti, etc. really want to undermine this good work? It seems like they have not thought their adventure near the Ghats through at a deeper level.
“Hello. My name is Nurdan and I was a workaholic. For more than ten years I was working as a brand manager for a multinational energy company in Turkey, and I used to divide my life in two – a spiritual life and a working life – with no idea how to bring both together.
Now, I am living in the OSHO International Meditation Resort in Pune, India, participating in the three-month Creative Living Program. I am learning to bring the quality of meditation into my working life by being more aware, alert and total, supported by the daily OSHO Dynamic Meditation, OSHO Kundalini Meditation and the OSHO Evening Meeting Meditation, and Program-related OSHO Multiversity courses. So for me, meditation is not something that I do at a special time or place anymore, it is within me throughout the day.
By watching the mind, witnessing the thoughts and emotions, discovering my own uniqueness by going deeper and deeper, this experience is a turning point. Osho says: “Work is a necessary part of your transformation.” By jumping out of my comfort zone, going inside rather than outside, and getting inspired by myself, I am finding my creativity, and taking responsibility for my life, in a playful new way.”
Try this for a flavour of the Resort.

You should be ashamed of yourself posting this, Parmartha. Obviously just a depraved effort on the part of Jayesh to deprive Shantam of his birthright as Osho’s successor at the Poona Ashram.
Those people in the video are obviously innocents who have been taken advatage of by the evil Jayesh, and forced to be there against their will, and forced to look happy when they are in fact as miserable as Shantam, becaue of how awful things are in that hell-hole.
“Obviously just a depraved effort on the part of Jayesh to deprive Shantam of his birthright as Osho’s successor at the Poona Ashram.”
Or of his manifest destiny in a ‘prestigious’, ‘high-status’ (in his dreams) role as an ‘important’ Pune 2 veteran, basking in the light of his former (imaginary) glory, while wowing the ladies of many nations with tales of his heroic and triumphant struggle against the new breed of imperialist spiritual businessmen and their bastard online allies who had all but ruined Osho’s legacy.
And – but of course – receiving certain other rewards fitting for such a hero, at night, in multiple bed chambers…
He’s leaving us his dream…a distinctly ‘wet’ one!
Parmartha, watch this promotional video again and try to count how many European and American faces you see in the crowd of 300-400 Indians.
In a country of 1.25 billion people, in a city of 5.5 million people, you see a video of 300-400 Indians gathered for 3 to 4 days; did thousands of people around the decades pour their heart and money for this reason?
Please make sure you video the enlightenment day down at the burning ghats. There will be a lot of sub-continent people there, to be sure. Maybe 100 per cent.
Perfectly correct, Shantambhai!
Attracting 300-400 for a religious function in mighty Bhorat, home of all true religions, is certainly what is described in holy books of Anglo-Saxon baboons as “not being able to organise a piss-up in a brewery”!
Only this morning, as I headed down with sawn-off Bisleri water bottle to do holy ablutions down by railway tracks, I was also having crowd of 300-400!
Coward junkies, Scottish grave-robbers, Anglo-Saxon red-bottomed alcoholic baboons, skinhead advaitists, amateur psycho-analists, abc avatars, drunken cynics, white-skinned disciples with minds, small Greeks, Teutons in padded bunkers, coward and meek subjects of Empire, the little people and the invisible readers…
Did thousands of people around the decades pour their heart and money for this?
It is shameful to admit it, bhai…
Probably, yes!
Yahoo!
About this video I got some information from insiders. In these 300, 400 people, more than half are from Tata Consultancy service. I cannot authenticate this information but the friend who passed this information is quite an authentic person.
Somewhere my reputation as whistle-blower has reached to all the camps. Most of the disciples are fed up from synthetic Sannyas. Many people have also the idea by pumping my ego they will inspire me to be a martyr for the cause so that they can fuck and frolic in the new Commune.
I think even Osho would not have thought the repercussions of offering too much liberty to the disciples. The freedom given on the plate kills the idea to earn freedom.
Yes, go on, Shantam -just spread some peanut butter on your balls and walk into the welcome centre in Poona and blow yourself up-
You could be the first martyr of Al-Sannyas Liberation Martyrs Brigade!
I see the Ranch video has been taken off youtube.
Fuck! I haven’t even had a chance to watch it yet.
I have a copy saved if anyone
wants one.
Is there a message facility here on this site and if so can you send it to me?
Yes. Go to your profile.
I need an email. My usual way won’t work and I can’t upload the file to youtube, as they are going to ban me if I do it again.
Hey, it looks like the vid is up again. Maybe OFI had a change of heart. Or maybe they were put under some kind of pressure (from the Sannyas liberation martyrs brigade – also known as the ‘peanut butter gang’).
I love to read the comments of little men. The little men who have so much energy darshans from so many great men and women.
SD is such a coward junkie who will never dare to psycho-analyse the little Greek called Arpana. I hope Meera does not see the posts of SD. If my disciples write like him, I will die out of shame.
You do seem to take criticism rather badly for someone as evolved as you believe yourself to be,
Thanks for confirming (albeit in a ridiculously inappropriate way) that these posts have hit the target, Master Shantam.
Yes, Mr. Masked, your posts have hit the target. Now happy?
When one goes for the king, one should not shy away to get arrows from the door-keepers.
Shantam,
I am a little surprised that a person so far above ordinary people, who are not really sannyasins, because only you are really a sannyasin, is offended by people who are so much less than you. I mean you do seem a little sensitive for Osho’s entitled successor.
What would you do if you ended up in prison like Osho? When you start throwing your toys out of your pram just because we don’t share your delusions of how important you are, and indeed, despite you being so far above us, we never hesitate to keep reminding you we see no reason to show you an iota of respect, because of your chronic immaturity.
One relevant question which arises from the politics of meditation is whether the Indian tribe is better in my eyes?
No. They are another side of the same coin. If one side is ruthless, another is coward and meek, therefore I don´t feel Keerti or Vedant are radiating Osho energy as public faces of Osho´s work in India.
Since yesterday I was remembering a story quoted by Keerti at sannyasnews many years ago. I think, after that he did not feel like wasting time among the rowdies.
The story is from the life of Guru Nanak:
In one village, Guru Nanak and his two disciples felt people are too nasty.
Guru Nanak said, “I wish you stay rooted in the village.”
In another village, people were very nice and gentle and guru said, “I hope you get scattered.”
Disciples were puzzled. One does not bless like this.
Guru Nanak explained, “It is better nasty people remain rooted. In this way their nastiness won´t spread like a virus. When good people get scattered, they spread themselves like fragrance of the flowers.”
I don´t treat that badly the people running the Resort as Keerti suggested indirectly. I simply feel the crown prince and his coterie need to be pushed aside through protest and political lobbying.
Keerti and Vedant have such skills, they can use their goodwill to make the liberation of master´s property and bring it under the collective will of global Sannyas. But they won´t because they are coward and meek. They are still the subjects of the empire.
How would you suggest they try and do this, Mr Shan’t am? I don’t agree with them, but don’t experience them as cowards. I would say they suffer from foolishness, in common with your good self.
This is a good point of discussion but first you need to make your position clear, Mr. Parmartha.
If you think it is all fine, then one should not waste 99 cents for a simple blood pressure check. If you think some disease has taken place in the collective Sannyas, then one can go for any tests, howsoever expensive they may be.
Problem with religious and cultists’ mindset is that it always treats its main body made of plastic, neither fire can burn nor water can drown nor stupidity can touch nor rigid minds can enslave it.
In an impartial way can you also say Jayesh and Amrito suffer from extreme form of foolishness as you have mentioned about Vedant and Keerti?
Contemplate over this for a while and look why there is sympathy for one group of people.
Frankly, Shantam,
I see both sides as politicians, and that has always been my position.
They are just a bit different in their foolishnesses, but ultimately they are not involved in the Master’s game, or interested in it.
You have to ‘leave’ politics fully behind to reach the shores of enlightenment. And that also includes you!
Being a nobody – well, I don’t see that sort of consciousness from any involved in these silly property battles.
Thanks, Parmartha.
If I would be a painter like Arpana I´d see the river of Life here and two kind of guarding angels: on the one side, our natural grown Master of FOOLS (Anand Yogi) and on the other side, Soberness in ´Gestalt´ (Parmartha, you).
As it is rarely possible to respond to a Master of FOOLS in words, it´s up to you to get a response here, but from my very depths of a woman I came to know both of it; yet missing feeling the eagerness to reach some ´enlightenment´.
Fact is, that those ´games´ arouse sadness in me.
And hope from Heart there will be a coming to senses soon! From everybody.
Madhu
You make the mistake of believing this tiny fragment of our individual lives is all we are, all everybody is.
I held a baby this afternoon and she stopped crying, then fell asleep in the crook of my arm while I sat and talked to her mum and dad, and that too was just a fragment.
Thanks for such sharing, Arpana, you rarely do. But here it has been convenient, hasn´t it?
Madhu,
As a swimmer you might appreciate that in the river of life, constantly complaining that the other swimmers aren`t swimming correctly, or aren`t wearing the right gear, or they make you sad etc. is simply planning to stay miserable.
Maybe you want that?
I love metaphors. One can nail the facts indirectly.
Frank, I responded to the thread topic in particular and some comments to that from afar.
Sure, this is an open source (the UK SN chat) and you as others can go ahead in trying to administrate (or counsel) my feelings about that. That´s your freedom.
My freedom is to share my feelings. Which I did.
Madhu
P,
Nobody could run that place, be under the kind of scrutiny they are, from all those ‘glass is half-empty’ individuals and not be found wanting.
Remember how wrong and flawed Bhagwan looked in the eyes of ‘glass is half-empty’ fault-finders before the Ranch. (That isn’t a side swipe at anyone here. That’s a different issue).
http://theconversation.com/how-a-bbc-talkback-host-took-on-a-hateful-troll-and-taught-us-all-a-lesson-55583
Have they considered using those mindfulness colouring books available now to bring about a peaceful state? Or there’s a singalong app. for turning arguments into songs? Even the Rolling Stones are playing Havana, so just wait 50 years.
One of the main reasons Sannyas community is irrelevant in actualising change, despite all the guff about increased self-mindful, aware, joybreathfulness is that it has always toadied to the most obnoxious aspects of petty bourgeois self-indulgence.
There does not exist a single transparent model or cogent coherent discourse on the nature of anything remotely contemporary in delivering ideas into reality. Not a single didactic model of libertarian sustainability, viability, nor a modelled legacy of civic autonomy on a broad, inclusive scale.
Seems a bit of a waste considering the sheer cost of therapy etc. these days. Considering the impact that handing on years of experimentation success and trial and error, then where are the workshops, conventions, webosphere think-tanks on the new paradigms? The models we have are: find a Hollywood producer, a Greek heiress or a watch designer.
Alternatively, look posh and educated and flounce around a bit with important people and then just tune into your ears and the sound of the traffic. Hang out with cake-obsessed romantics and hey presto, you have the equivalent of self-determining mindfullessness without any dent being made on how the world works despite waxing lyrical as the best chance for humanity since sliced bread.
Please prove me wrong and that communes mean more than official trailers and happiness levels, however pleasant.
Have a watch at this new, raw video from Rajneeshpuram:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDMjBdHjLBo
Even in that turbulent month (September ’85) you can feel the beautiful energy of the Commune. In the end, there are those infamous clappings that Osho so much disliked.
Well picked up on this footage. Only put out, I see, last month.
First time seen video footage radiates so much raw honesty. I made the first break at 35th minute.
It provokes some thoughts, some feelings in hindsight and insight for the situation where Sannyas stands now.
The whole thing happened just 32, 33 years ago is mind-blowing. No other individual has dared to create another spiritual city anywhere else in the world.
Shantam says, “It provokes some thoughts, some feelings in hindsight and insight for the situation where Sannyas stands now.”
I watched this for 5 minutes. My main thought was why am I wasting time watching this? I felt nothing whatsoever viewing this. As to lending an insight as to where Sannyas stands now, I can only say that this boring snippet in time has absolutely nothing to do with what Sannyas was originally based on: meditation. Basically, the vid shows the mind-fuck that is at the heart of the American legal system – walking on egg shells etc.
Shantam begins his conclusion with the following: “The whole thing happened just 32, 33 years ago is mind-blowing.”
Testimony to how feeble-minded he must be, because there is nothing mind-blowing about this vid.
Moving on to the mind-blown one’s ultimate conclusion: “No other individual has dared to create another spiritual city anywhere else in the world.”
This is misconstrued hyperbole. One could just as easily conclude that no other Indian guru was kicked out of the United States in such scandalous conditions, leaving behind an utter shambles, which amounted to some of his hand-picked disciples stealing funds, wasting money, poisoning innocent men and women and, most importantly, children. This was no major accomplishment, it was a major fuck-up.
Taken as a device to waken his disciples up, the lesson is missed entirely if one believes the ultimate accolade is no other individual has dared to create another spiritual city anywhere else in the world. Closer to the truth, perhaps, would be to say no other individual has dared to create a social situation in which so-called spiritual seekers were able to be manipulated, bullied and completely misled by a woman who had ties closer to the Nazis than anything remotely spiritual.
Here is a much more enlightening video…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAg1r6zw7Bg&index=4&list=RDr_4jrMwvZ2A
I agree.
Lokesh, fast-forward the video where Osho starts speaking; before that, it is boring where the lawyer is trying to explain natty-gritty of procedural law. Rest can be discussed later.
Not least that everybody was wearing a mala and red clothes, and don’t now. He was called Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and is now called Osho.
The dominant generation were baby boomers, and now they are millennials, who are internet natives; which leads nicely to the point that the internet plays a huge part in what Sannyas is about now, and didn’t then.
Beautiful set of Rajneeshpuram photos here: http://jplaffont.photoshelter.com/gallery/RAJNEESHPURAM/G0000LE31T0QbgBk
Look at all those cars.
Shouldn’t he have donated them to charity?
After bankruptcy, I think cars and other visible assets must have been taken by the banks.
Where comes the question of donation? In every ambitious cult where followers open their heart and pockets, my estimate is around 15-20% money is transferred into the secret accounts. Every church leader knows in God we trust but Existence will take care during rainy days through this clandestine money.
I am sure trustees of Rajneeshpuram and Osho Pune were not different.
You’re not “sure” at all, Shantam, you’ve convinced yourself you are so you think you are, because it suits your personal political agenda.
With this agenda you’ve also convinced yourself you’re some sort of great crusader for truth and justice, but all you’re doing is simply attempting to make others ‘wrong’, to make them responsible for your personal dissatisfaction, disillusionment, unhappiness.
Thus, you’ve constructed a convenient set of beliefs in order to somehow make sense of your life, give it a sense of purpose otherwise lacking. Nothing ‘spiritual’ about this at all, because the roots of your chronic discontent remain, for you, too close to the bone, too much for you to honestly examine and be responsible for. Far easier to shift blame on to others, to make your life one long, dreary litany of complaint and accusation.
It’s this basic ongoing dishonesty that I find so tedious and uninspiring (as, I’d hazard, do other readers); this stubborn, almost bovinely wilful unintelligence, about as far away from the spirit and ‘being’ of Sannyas as one can get.
Never discuss anything with someone who is needy to bow before any Tom, Dick, Marry with the tag of Avatara and Enlightened, and arrogant enough to play superior before everyone else.
Instead of feeling wow, I feel repulsed by phoney wisdom.
Shantam.
Why are you being so rude and aggressive towards SD?
Not as if he said anything about you that wasn’t true.
Predictably robotic gratuitous drivel from you, Master Shantam, again indicating the right spot has been well and truly hit (although you’d never admit to it, of course, especially not to yourself).
Has anyone ever seen a picture of the full 93 Rolls Royces? In the pics I`ve seen there are always only 20-30. Surely if there were 93, there would be a snap of them somewhere?
Or was it just another mug-off, er…I mean…device?
I would be grateful to get this matter cleared up as it’s severely hampering my spiritual progress.
Btw, here`s a pic of that era that makes me chuckle.
Do you know who the lady on the right is?
Cross my palm with silver and on with the cuffs!
Yes, she never had them with wedding henna. Maybe the incompetent woman was told by the palm reader that she will never have the man she loved so much – no chance of being a Mrs. Aurobindo kind. And Osho is a blast, like it or not.
I’ve always particularly liked this image, Tan.
❤️
Interesting pic, Frank! Never seen it before and I’ve been around the block with Sannyas pictures a few times!
Did you ‘create’ it?! Or maybe you tell us where you got it?
Looks almost as if Sheela is not wearing a mala?
Big P,
I`ve seen it somewhere online before, can`t remember where. The pictures of the Ranch posted by Ivan reminded me and so I googled google images: ‘Sheela has her fortune told’, and it was the first pic up.
Putting my Parmartha Conan Doyle hat on, I notice the palm-reader has got a wristband on – so I suspect it took place at a festival/event of some sort (unless she had just escaped from hospital).
Popped into my mind that it may have been one of the ‘esoteric tents’ on the Ranch during the festivals where you could have a reading for $5. I had mine done, cos I couldn`t afford much else apart from the odd chocolate-chip cookie.
I was probably suffering from poverty consciousness or making up for being Napoleon or an Atlantean Pharaoh in my past lives….
“Hmm…I can see poisonous mixtures in the tea…lots of homeless people dressed in red.
Ah, injections for the doctor…a secret tunnel under the house of the bearded man – but the caretaker survives.
Aha! You gain 50 million in gold and run away from the desert.
Wait – prison!
Later in life you run the nursing home.”
Watched it (at least the bits where Osho speaks). An interesting collection.
Is the video available where master chastises the disciples for clapping?
Scoring one´s own goal (if there was ever any) or ´shooting oneself in one´s own feet’ is not rarely happening in the situation of “Double Mirage”. However, if even the Jehovah´s Witness entities then backfire aloud, it´s getting weird enough, isn´t it?
The acclaimed thirty-one year-old vid , a compilation, a compulsory winding up the lawyers’ settlements for the numerous ´deals´, yet to come…
As far as late Prem Hasya is concerned, seemed to be the first exercises re implementation, getting on the new role as Osho´s secretary then.
`Mirages` don t know time and space, as we all know, I guess. And that may be the reason Ivan Osokin felt invited to share a brand-new compilation from the net about creatively writing the ´history´ anew (and yet old).
What has been historically discussed only later is that the (at least) two or three sections of proclaimed ‘inner circles’ for power had been spying on each other too. That at least seems to be pretty ´contemporary’, doesn´t it? As to come back to “Double Mirage”, the thread topic theme.
Maybe in some aspects time passing is even more human than acting protagonists? However, I have been reminded of times I didn´t know till nowadays how I survived that. Literally.
And even if I am closest to some of Lokesh´s phrases at the end of his comments today, I am also reminded of what a difference that makes if somebody has been present in the body in these precarious times and places. Or not.
And seeing it from afar (as in time/chronologically, as also from other life circumstances’ aspects then. And now). Double Mirage? Oh yes, more than double.
And you, Swamishanti, you may not be angry that you did ´miss´ this vid in particular. You are surely talented to compile your own version, aren´t you?
Greetings from the blue Bavarian Sunday sky (2016, the Eden of March). Cloud´s watching.
Madhu
Videotape is very useful and allows us to watch recordings and photo compilations of Osho.
But it is a new invention and previously there were no techniques available to record any masters except for the written scriptures of disciples, the disciples of the disciples, and before that the songs or the ‘gitas’ that carried the messages and the vibration.
