Osho’s Passport

SannyasNews was given this pic of Osho’s Passport from 1981.   A few observations arise which may in their turn give rise to comments:

It is interesting to note that Osho self describes as a “Religious Teacher” .  So there must have been some advance planning to try and make his entry into the USA a more permanent feature than it was thought to be at the time.(1981)

Osho strays into both columns. Kulchwadad is misspelt. A scar on right eye brow is mentioned.

The column inviting naming of children is crossed boldly with “Nil” .

  1. Parmartha says:

Osho’s passport filling-in would not meet the demands of the present British Home Office!
He has strayed out of the lines in several places, the spelling of his birth town has been misspelt, etc.

I have had patients who are torture survivors (and thereby asylum seekers in the UK) who have had their passport applications sent back for much less than this!

  2. lokesh says:

Never born, never died, but he did have a passport.

  3. madhu dagmar frantzen says:

    Dear Parmartha,
Could you share, who gave that pics of an Indian passport of 1981 to Sannyas News,
and could you please share, what brought you (besides your profession that I don’t know anything about) to the following remarks?
    :
“I have had patients who are torture survivors (and thereby asylum seekers in the UK) who have had their passport applications sent back for much less than this!”

    Madhu

    • Parmartha says:

The passport pics. came through a member of the Sannyas News Collective. However, it is no such big thing, he had copied them from an old 1999 Pune magazine, so the passport has been in the public domain since then.

On your second question, as part of my job I help torture survivors in gaining acceptance into the UK, including proof of their torture and helping them navigate the by-ways of the UK Home Office, which is a very difficult and inefficient body!

They sometimes reject people, for example from Iran, but the other arm of the British Government won’t send them back as they will be at “risk” there. So such poor people are often in a kind of stateless limbo for many years. Maybe Germany is better.

  4. madhu dagmar frantzen says:

I feel it sarcasm in full gears, Lokesh,

“Never born, never died, but he did have a passport.”

Why and what for? I would like to ask you.

    Madhu

    • lokesh says:

      “Why and what for?”
      People like you, of course.
Sarcasm is not where I am coming from. Irony more like. What you feel is what you feel, but in this case it has to do with who you are and not what was written.

  5. Fresch says:

Osho is too much; really, he did not leave opportunity to make a joke.

PM, why do you think Osho got away with it?

It’s also kind of interesting in regard to his ”will”. I must tell, that this winter two young new sannyasins in their twenties went to Poona (one is a child of a sannyasin, the other one had read Osho’s books) and had a really good time there. I do not know, it seems ok.

However, if circumstances were different it would have been even more mind-blowing for them. On the other hand, the whole world of sannyas is open for them now, not just Poona.

  6. Fresch says:

I also do not understand his behaviour with the dentist, dentist’s chair and laughing gas at all. Devageet writes that when he was pulling Osho’s teeth, that under the “normal aged teeth of his” all the nerves were as in a young person. And Osho was saying something like your “animalistic past is in your teeth”.

With my poor understanding he would be saying bones are bones, death…but bones are the fragrance, so I do not understand at all. Do you?

  7. shantam prem says:

Parmartha, you are doing no good to the work of Osho Foundation International or Osho World.

Both may be arch-enemies, but have common agenda: Project Osho as Messiah.
Messiahs don´t have passport, they come and go without visa; they enjoy a kind of diplomatic immunity.
Osho was/is a religious/spiritual teacher/preacher/master just like others like him during their lifetimes.

In the coming days, Christians around the world will celebrate “Christi Himmelfahrt” ( Ascension of Christ, Jesus rides towards the sky) and on similar lines we can think of Osho too.

It serves the purpose of crowd management and also one can wash the hands from all kinds of mind games. We simply follow the guidelines of our Osho. He was so farsighted, he told everything, who would take care of his work and its expansion in 2000, 2010, 2020, 2030.

    • Parmartha says:

I am doing them no good with intent:
We only have Messiahs and so called “great men” because the rest of humanity does not realise its full and ‘great’ potential. Everyone is great.

  8. madhu dagmar frantzen says:

    So true, Lokesh.

Sad enough that you didn’t become more acquainted with me these few months.
And sad enough that I have obviously not managed so far to express a gap for this kind of s p a c e.

    Madhu

  9. madhu dagmar frantzen says:

Thank you, Parmartha – for answering both my questions.

Both your answers help me a lot.

You know a lot of barbarous traits mankind is into,

    me too.

Your presumption, that in Germany – maybe – something might be better in dealing with victimised people, in the midst of all the global chaos of madness
and terror all the ways is probably wrong.

It all depends on the level those involved in their roles are at -
(conciousness-wise) – and is a very complex situation.

Feeling honoured that you shared that much of your everyday work
    and wish you very well.

    Madhu

  10. madhu dagmar frantzen says:

    You wrote, Shantam Prem:

“…Both may be arch-enemies, but have common agenda: Project Osho as Messiah….”

    Fatal and double big error(s).

Sri Shantam and Maddie Daggers overheard brainstorming in the Sannyas News engine room…

    S. Namaste. Much love, sexy meditative woman. I am having utmost admiration for the female of the white species but male of species has nothing but human error and western egomind that understands Osho’s vision only like missed penalty in Champions League final.

    M. I am feeling total sarcasm and bitterness and contempt for those who approach truth like a rapist.
    Why and what for?

    S. In my past life I was running like four-legged donkey in three-legged race in a one-horse town after team bus of Indian Champions League team, Real Gandhi, but now my only wish is for haircut change and regime change for the yong ‘uns in the Korea-gaon Park.

M The words are dead in you.
You are living in a latrine.
You are not acquainted with the s p a c e in my words,
    which are really no-words
    herenow.

Drinking tea and feeling contempt inside and outside.

Looking at what is triggering inside outside in the here and now your presumption of misunderstanding of hypnosis devices are
    UTTER MISUSE HABITS,
    not grounding consciousness
    or gratitude.

Yesterday, today, tomorrow, this moment, press the button to post.
    Love.

    S. Christian festival of Himmelfart is coming soon where Christ blasts into the space like Osho should do also and I will be reading about it in Daily Mail whilst viewing World Cup finals.

    M. Fatal and double big errors….

  12. Fresch says:

I asked some 4-5 questions as if SN would be some fucking tea table, which blog clearly is not.

These are not questions, but more like observations.

Madhu, why am I not at all surprised you do not understand me?

Madhu and PM, Did it ever occur to you that Germany must be an expert with victims since making millions of victims…hello?

Madhu and Lokesh, the married couple by values.

Lokesh only writes when he writes about himself. He answers, if you write about him – if you write positively – then he gives you an answer “good post”. Do not write too long (even about him), that takes attention away from him.

Arps, make your own art…here and elsewhere.

Frank, you disappoint me, have you got Alzheimer’s?
If you will be onboard on this one, it’s your only hope. Or else you can just scatter the ashes in your dead head.

    “Christian festival of Himmelfart”
    I will celebrate both.

    Me
    Here and now
    Ruining business opportunities
    By hating all friends.
    Love and hugs.

  13. Fresch says:

Oh, Shantam, people laying on sofa talking politics and watching celebriites on TV are so boring that I forgot about you.

  14. lokesh says:

“In my past life I was running like four-legged donkey in three-legged race in a one-horse town.”

    Classic! That made me laugh.

    • frank says:

The battle for Osho`s *leg*acy could be described as
      a four-legged donkey and a three-legged man in a two-horse race in a one-horse town.

      • frank says:

On the subject of three legged men,
here`s one for the Daily Mail readers.

Did you see that in his defence from abuse allegations, that devotee of enlightenment, Rolf Harris, stood up in the dock at the Old Bailey and sang,
“I`m Jake the Peg (with the extra leg)”?

        You couldn’t make it up.
        As they say.

  15. shantam prem says:

One of the most interesting aspects emerging in the world is that youth of the West on the forefront of any kind of technological development and innovation has no apparent interest in the bearded or non-bearded spiritual teachers or masters from India.

I think it is a great evolution.

  16. Fresch says:

SD, read my posts. Vartan, read SN.

  17. shantam prem says:

Spirituality without knowing the politics is like aunties above 55 taking anti-baby pills!

    • satyadeva says:

How do you personally define “spirituality” though, Shantam?

I strongly suspect that your definition would be quite different to that of many, probably the vast majority of, if not all, SN readers. And even to that of most sannyasins or those on other ‘paths’.

      • Arpana says:

        Honestly, SD,
it’s whatever Shanty pantz says it is, at any given time.

        DHU!!!!

        • Arpana says:

Or, to put it another way:

Spirituality is whatever Shanty Pantz needs to believe it is, to rationalise the fact that he’s a thick, ignorant, uninformed, prejudiced, pompous, self-important moron, who’s part of the problem and not part of the solution.

(There is no overlap between what he believes himself to be and what he actually is).

  18. Fresch says:

I was born to an active left-wing family; my childhood was about participating in demonstrations and Chile liberation concerts, I was even wearing Red Pioneers scarf at school when I was 7 years old – against conservative surroundings.

However, even that was action, not sofa-surfing, Shantam. Actually, there is a site for sofa-surfing. You can sleep in people’s homes all over the world. Try that.

  19. Fresch says:

I understand you would like to be some gossip (it’s not ‘gospel’, so that you know the difference) columnist too.

Why would you not do a book, ‘Guide To Watching Indian Soaps On All Sofas Of The World’, instead?

  20. madhu dagmar frantzen says:

    The inter-net
not such a good place and space
for a verbal variant of the AUM meditation or the second stage DYNAMIC.

All has its place, hasn’t it?
Also approach is in a way ‘second-life’ multiplicities
    just because obviously ‘nothing matters’
and coming in waves of verbal rubbish
is sometimes too much to take (after lunch-break time).

    Like now to-day.

    Madhu

MOD: WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, PLEASE, MADHU?
Also approach is in a way ‘second-life’ multiplicities
    just because obviously ‘nothing matters’.
