The petitioners who claim ill-doing by the Trustees, including deceptions around Osho’s will, have sought a transfer of investigation. This, after they claimed the Pune police have failed to make any progress at all, in their enquiry.
The Bombay high court has directed the petitioner who has made allegations around misappropriation of funds of the Osho Rajneesh Trust, to approach the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a respondent. The petitioner sought transfer of the investigation to them, after he claimed the Pune police have failed to make any progress in their enquiry.
A division bench of justices R.V. More and Sadhana Jadhav heard the petition filed by Pune resident Yogesh Thakker. He requested that the investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds of the trust be handed over to the CBI, as the Pune police, in his view, had failed to make any progress.
After hearing his submissions, the court directed Thakker’s lawyer Pradeep Havnur to approach the CBI and the Union government as respondents to the petition.
The Justices said that “We have to also hear the CBI’s arguments and views, since you (the petitioner) are seeking a probe by them. Issue notice to CBI,” the court said.
They then posted another date to continue the hearing of the petition after they get the response of the CBI. The date they set is September 27.
According to Thakker, the trustees allegedly transferred money from the trust to private companies owned by them. In 2012, Thakker wrote a letter to the Pune police commissioner, following which a First Information Report was lodged against the Trustees in 2013, but Thakker claims no progress has been made since then.

After hearing his submissions, the court directed Thakker’s lawyer, Pradeep Havnur, to the CBI and the Union government as respondents to do one thing and do the needful and to kindly adjust and to prepone the petition at regular intervals after postponing for the next 17 years.
Meanwhile, Inspector Badmash has said that a lathi charge against unarmed muslims and Dalits cannot be ruled out: “because we are like that, only,”

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, several lawyers were called to the bar of the Oberoi Hotel, as a distinguished looking Englishman, Dr Dave O`Raj, flanked by a posse of Korean hotties, Swiss bankers and his manservant, a certain Balveer Badmash, pulled a bottle of Bombay gin out of his Gladstone bag, drank it one swig, threw the empty at Mr Thakkar and his team shouting, “Investigate that, rickshaw wallah!”. Meanwhile, Mr Ronnie O`Byrne, an other people`s property developer, and his twin brother Reggie, taunted the angry mob of meditators outside the hotel by waving large bundles of $100 bills and a 10 rupee aerogramme, laughing and singing:

Someone with inside information can sketch such characters.

As you asked for clues, I put on my Parmartha Conan Doyle hat and this is what I found:
Papaji died September, 1997.
That’s about 20 years ago.
He taught and triggered a wave of gurus and “enlightened ones” that have been around ever since, many of them are in the picture.
I guess the creator of the picture was attempting some type of comment about this show as the wording on the drum in the foreground clearly says “Papaji”.

The Bombay High Court was in the same area as my college, our group of friends used to frequent their canteen, they serve very good vegetable cutlets & coffee, at a much reasonable price!

I myself used to go to the Indian embassy canteen here in the Aldwych, London, when a student at the London School of Economics. There an excellent cheap meal could be obtained, and also where one could enjoy something a little different, just five minutes walk from the sometimes heavy political talk of the LSE corridors and canteen!
I also remember as a poor hippie living in Pune some good meals at a temple near the Post Office where they used to give rice, vegetables and dal for free – not sure why, and not sure why to white middle-class hippies such as myself. But then again, it meant a few extra days living near Osho, which may have had great benefit…or not…depending on whatever one thinks about such things.

Had Rajneeshpuram been still around today, someone like Shantam would have been aiming to be boss of 64,000 acres of what by now would have been good and well organised land and parks, excellent clear desert air and the infrastructure of a city, not five acres of a highly polluted Indian city suburb.

Maybe western disciples of Osho living in the ivory towers of their highly civilised countries are not aware that it is a very big victory of Anti-Resort lobby if case of forged Osho will and other charges are being investigated by CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) at the direction of High Court.
Local police all around India is thoroughly corrupt, their reputation to investigate without pressure is doubted by each and every Indian, therefore in matters of crime, sufferer side always ask for CBI investigation.
The officers in this agency are cream of justice delivery system, so it will be a very difficult task to purchase their loyalty as Jayesh and Bros. have done all these years.
It is really an amazing success story in a way that a Canadian person with Irish blood could befool so many people and use loopholes in corrupt Indian socio-political fabric to do his thing.
CBI investigation can open the pandora box. If it happens, I feel it is my responsibility to present myself as a witness, a witness who does not belong to any group but has the clear-cut view; opposing side is much more gentle and law abiding and can do justice to Masterly work and His people.

It seems, SP, that you have not read our report that thoroughly, which is often the case.

A CIA probe is being sought by Thakkar, but it has yet to be agreed as far as we can see. This hopefully will become clear on the 27th September.

In the last paragraph of my above post I have written “If it happens”. The way Indian judicially is becoming proactive chances are more than 75%.
More than judicial matters, question is also why seekers of truth be reluctant to face the independent enquiry.
Most of the sannyasins are from Christian background and I am sure during their youth they must have confronted their families and friends about corruption in Church. Have not they faced similar situation in their own Church? So some fair and dignified protest is required or not?

“I am sure” – there you go again, Shantam, making an assumption about something you know nothing about. Shows how little you know about where conventional religion is at in many western countries, especially since 1945.
It wasn’t so much a ‘live’ issue, more a matter of total indifference. Growing up, for me and almost everyone I knew, it was already dead, irrelevant, hardly worth thinking about except as a source of laughter, satirical humour, its practitioners, with very few exceptions, were just so laughable. Likewise, its rituals.
As a young boy I was sent to ‘Sunday School’ to be taught the Christian ways, but found it so deadly boring I eventually skipped going and went for bike rides instead.
And I recall clearly perceiving the hypocrisy of my father, who, faced with the ‘appalling’ fact that my older brother used to like a drink at the local pub on Sundays, used to declare that on Sundays one should either be in Church or studying at home – neither of which he did himself, of course!
Whatever happened re “Osho’s Will”, my sense is that, should the ‘evil Westerners’ eventually be ousted, we can rely on you and the rest of the outraged Indian campaigners to create a place that would elicit a similar response to that of the post-war western generation to the Christian Church, ie an almost total lack of interest. I suggest that if you expect anything remotely like the restoration of the Pune ashram in its heyday you’re going to be very disappointed.

Shantam, you are the only person currently I know/have met in person on SN but sometimes I wonder if I would be able to encounter you otherwise as much as I can now; we both know & take liberty with each other which is quite natural, I guess!
In the initial years of my internet/SN it was not very easy, the idea of sharing without having any personal connection/knowledge of the other person, but on the way I realised that it’s ok to not know the person, many times it’s better not have preconceived perceptions, it works better for both parties to share/respond!
I guess one can enjoy more if one is less stuck-up, in case one needs to enjoy in the first place!
