Spiritual Trekking in Nepal
Pashupati is a great spot for those devoted in devotional service which is the simplest method to approach the supreme. All the parapheranelia to worship Lord Shiva are available at Pashupatinath.
Indian pilgrims from all over the world flock here in days of Mahashivaratri. Pashupatinath is a huge town in itself with various temples of different deities. The sight of corpses being burnt down at the funeral site in Pashupati is a great view for truth seekers. Spiritual aspirants yearn to learn from these sights the truth of our existence.

Lumbini which is located in Bhairahawa region is a place where Siddhartha Gautam, empounder of Buddism, also known as Lord Buddha was born by the tree as a son of Yashoda, wife of King Sudhyodhana of Shakya Dynasty. Buddha later left the palace in search of enligtenment and obtain full knowledge at Gaya while sitting under the Bodhi tree.
Osho Tapoban in the Nagarjuna hills are the most famous spots for the active entrepreneurs, engineers, professors and doctors of Nepal. After Osho passed after, it has been run by Swamis initiated by Osho and his disciples. Most of the members are highly successful and rich Kathmandu entrepreneurs. Nagarjuna mountains offer peaceful realm for meditation upon the spirit under guidance from a qualified master.
All the facilities of modern convenience are available at Nagarjuna mountains making it a great spot for spiritual vacation. Hard-working entrepreneurs and engineers come back to this spot to recharge themselves during the weekend so that they can prepare themselves for a better work.

Vipasana meditation:
Vipasana generally means withdrawing within instead of worshipping a certain deitymaster outside for the spiritual attainment. Vipasana meditations began during the Buddha’s period under his disciples. Today, there are several Vipasana centers in Kamaladi and Kamalpokhari areas of Kathmandu.
Padma Jyoti of Jyoti Groups who went back to Nepal after obtaining a graduate degree from Harvard established few Vipasana meditation centers. Today, these centers offer various types of meditations and yoga teachings for interested parties. One of the most popular Vipasana meditation center is located right next to the Narayanhiti palace.
“Siddhartha Gautam, `empounder` of Buddism”?
Well, I suppose he got his wheel of karma clamped whilst parking overnight under a tree!
“All the parapheranelia to worship Lord Shiva are available at Pashupatinath.”
I remember that stuff too. I wonder how much it is for a tola these days
By the way, 22 December, 2009, at 11:08 pm, I wrote this on SN:
“Nepal could turn itself into THE ultimate pilgrimage/tourist destination. Trekking, hot springs, spas, meditation centres everywhere – they could turn the whole country into a Buddha-Zorba-Osho Religious theme park.
Get all the unemployed guys to clean the place up, it’s pretty filthy, then watch all the wealthy westerners roll in to a terrorist-free zone…Build pyramids in Durbar Square next to the pagodas, enlightenment as soon as you get off the plane and see those snow-capped peaks…
Kathmandu could be Shangri-La again, but this time with central heating, good food and all mod cons.
It`s gonna happen……”
Do you think I could be the new Nostradamus?
John Hogue, if you`re reading this, I`m going to kick your ass from here to here….
“Siddhartha Gautam, empounder of Buddhism, also known as Lord Buddha.”
As Osho used to point out, the man Siddhartha, the “Buddha”, became a “Lord Buddha” centuries after his death – this is when some Hindus decided that Buddha was an incarnation of Vishnu.
It was at this point that the man Buddha was lost and the legend of the Perfected Lord Buddha was born.
Shanti, what is your observation when the legend of the perfected Lord Osho Jain Bhagwan will be born?
Past everyone can see, future is what only third eye people can see. It is like one American sannyasin of Oshonews fame has seen Donald Trump being the next US President even before primaries started.
That prognosticator swami can surely tell when politicians in Nepal and India will bow their shameless heads before new vote bank as sooner or later Osho sannyasins will spread like orange sun rays!
Osho being made ‘Lord’?
I doubt it. Still, in India, who knows?
Some strange goings on, `sports`, in that Pashuspatinath temple….
“Pashupathi”. Pashoopatti.

As a spoiled American accustomed to western standards of living, I really disliked Kathmandu. I wanted to leave after a few days ’cause I was so disillusioned by the environment in the city. But I loved living at Tapoban even though my illusions of living in a buddhafield & my need to have a master were shattered. Nevertheless, I grew & learned a lot from my stay at Tapoban.
I am grateful that a place like that exists. I only wish that there was an active, low cost community near Los Angeles or other big cities, where one can go for a weekend, or for an extended period, to meditate, decompress & meet people on the same path.
Mr. or Ms L,
You are saying, indirectly, there is no Osho activity in and around Los Angeles. Please write to the trustees of Osho Foundation International about this steep decline in Sannyas-related activities in North America.
May i suggest you to visit Rajneesh´s commune in Mexico.
There are many Osho communities that you can visit near LA, San Diego, etc. You can contact them directly or through me. Contact me through our website, http://www.oshoviha.org, to receive a free Osho magazine.
Still makes me laugh when last year one western woman misunderstood the name of the place and was looking hard for the Pussypatinath….
Lols.
Pussypatinath…
I will google this.
That’s Shantam’s weekend sorted then….
So, Satyadeva, here is my research:
There is no word like ‘Pussypatinath’ in google. It means it is a brand new creation and in a way very symbolic of West and East merger in a tantric way.
Let me explain the meaning:
‘Pussy’: Its meaning is well known in English and non-English speaking persons.
‘Pati’ means husband, long-term boyfriend.
‘Nath’ means owner, the Swami.
So, in a way, it seems Pussypatinath is none other than Shivalingam.
Whatever turns you on, Shantam….
Well, there`s plenty of erotic artwork in Pashupatinath carvings, it seems…
Apart from smoking chillums, practising yoga and the other `sports` and activities at Pashupatinath, playing the “nose-flute” has recently become popular…
