Judging by my – admittedly miniscule – experience of Lady Gaga, here we might well have someone finding it convenient to use a great person’s words to mask their own essentially thoroughly mediocre creative ‘talent’. What’s more, from what little I’ve read about her, she appears to be someone utterly driven by ambition for fame [...]

Osho’s ideas about any kind of publicity being good publicity are clearly flawed, if viewed by a person with a little common sense, a rare commodity in today’s world. The fallout that resulted from the collapse of Rajneeshpuram severely damaged Osho’s reputation, credibility and image as a spiritual master. In terms of his techings reaching [...]

Lady Gaga quoted Osho as below In her latest public declaration during the acceptance of the MTV Video Music award Lady Gaga shared a quote by Osho with her fans through her Twitter account: Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence. Osho, The Goose is out, Ch 9, Q2 Myriads of young people are said [...]

My experience was as a full commune European Member. I was moved around at the commune’s expense and in one case where they clearly had a job they wanted me to do, and which no-one in Hamburg seemed much taken to. I had no private wealth at all, but quite a lot of work and [...]

Jay says and I reply to him in the next post “sorry to disagree with you parmartha. It wasn’t as simple as you say, being a full fledged member of the commune to get all the perks and benefits. I got most of the benefits and perks when i lived on the ranch, and only [...]

How do you recognize the real inner voice?

  • We repeat parmartha’s last post on the closed home page string. Nirman you say: “I also heard that there were exchange programs where sannyasins and sannyas kids from one commune could go to live at another one for things like meditation or therapist trainings, work-as-meditation programs, or children’s education. From what I have read and [...]

I just wanted to tell you all about the new conscious community site http://www.iLuna.co.uk. It has a listing of spiritual events, blogs and practitioners directory

  • Somehow this great poem of Madhuri triggers something all on the Caravanserai might have felt…. ? “Will You Go To India This Year?” Yesterday I was in India. It still crowds at my shoulders, jostles behind me. It cranks me up towards panic, and I grow thinner. Panic at half the speed is thrill. Yesterday [...]

I’m proud to say I was thrown out of the cubs for almost accidently gassing a cub mistress.

Yes indeed…And Baden Powell organised Scouts into small groups, ‘patrols’ of 6 or so members, perhaps realising teenagers’ liking for being part of a ‘gang’?!

Could this be a solution to inner city rioters’ problems?!
    (Only joking)

Cheerful Chappie yes, that Dalai Lama….
They used to tell us when I was a Boy Scout all those years ago “To smile and whistle under all difficulties”
    – cheerfulness is just a sort of self discipline really.
Not a bad discipline to have, but enlightenment?

He can’t be too smart if he is a prime minister.

“(Btw, wisest thing I’ve heard recently is that there’s really nothing else going on than ‘the spiritual life’ in this existence…Everyone, bar no one, is in the same boat…No one’s ‘special’…)”

Yep, that David Cameron’s smarter than the average prime minister….

To clarify, by ‘not being unhappy’ I include being ‘run’ by thoughts and emotions, the ups as well as the downs, ie the whole ‘dualistic’ baggage.

IE I’m not advocating some sort of ‘TM number’ (perish the thought!).

If I were asked what were my religious views I’d probably answer somewhere between a Buddhist and a Pagan. There was a very simple and uncomplicated vibe around Poonjaji in Lucknow. I entered a silent space where it really came home to me that there is no need to sweat the big stuff. I did [...]

Isn’t ‘the goal’ of it all to simply not be unhappy, not to be subject to aberrant thoughts, moods, emotional ups and downs and so on? Meaning NEVER, EVER to be in thrall to all that stuff… Simply to ‘Be Life’ – clear space, nothing arising… Big job!!.. (Btw, wisest thing I’ve heard recently is [...]
