Continuing the topic, ’A New Wave of Consciousness or The Same Old Same Old? ’, Shantam Prem found this link at CBS news:

SD , there is no reply button on the this page. Also the videos in the link don’t work here on my net . Anyway posting here .
Seems if this really happens , this time it will be an existential Trap for the Women species !
I think the DL has got the same scriptwriter who`s working on the upcoming : ”Carry on up the Potala”
”Yeah that would be a larf. If we are gonna let `em out of the kitchen, we need to get some well fit bird in to succeed me, like. She`d `ave to be well foxy with a decent pair of mandalas ,mind. Don`t want a total
minger round the office-we need more Kyle than Kali-know what I mean? (Cue Sid James laughter and another round of chang with his cronies)
Meanwhile,in other news the bookies have shortened their odds on Kim Kardashian becoming the new Dalai Lama.
I shall also bet on Kalai Lama !
Good, common sense pragmatism from the DL. He’s no fool, he knows the way the wind is blowing and he knows human nature.
Deserves credit for being open to break the mould of 2500 years by having a woman as head of an important branch of Buddhism.
But he also knows that the next Dalai Lama is meant to be his own reincarnation. If it is a woman it would be him. It is meant to be a Bodhisattva, an awakened being who is not fully enlightened, who keeps returning.
The present Dalai Lama was recognised by certain visions that were given to senior lamas. When they found him as a young boy he was speaking in a dialect native to Lhasa that his parents could not understand and he had to undergo certain tests which identified him.
That`s true, the DL doesn`t have the ultimate authority over the process of choosing the successor. Unless they change that too.
For me, the thing of him offending liberals with modern values who think he is being sexist is quite strange. They don`t seem to have noticed or ignored how patriarchal Tibetan Buddhism is in the first place. How did they miss that?
Ok, Kavita, thanks for the info. Further discussion will have to take place here at the Caravanserai until the tech issue is cleared up.
Apologies for the hassle.
Well found the radio interview which is 26.29 mins .
