Sam Lucas, to me, Osho’s words here have the ring of truth, without a shadow of doubt. However, that doesn’t necessarily imply one has to go out on the streets and start a revolution or engage in directly political action.(although one might, if personally moved to). It’s simply a matter of seeing the truth and living accordingly, which tends to happen anyway when really touched by a genuine master.
If you’re a Christian, Sam, then you might recall Jesus’s words, ”The Truth will set you free”? You and I may not ’know’ the ultimate Truth of our being but someone like Jesus or Osho reflects that to us – if we’re open to it.
Here endeth this morning’s lesson. Have a simply lover-ly day!
Us Jehovahs Witnesses have respect for governments. Although we do not take part in politics, we respect the authority of the governments under which we live. This is in harmony with the Bible’s command: “Let every person be in subjection to the superior authorities.” (Romans 13:1) We obey the law, pay taxes, and cooperate with efforts of the government to provide for the welfare of its citizens. Rather than participate in any attempt to subvert the government, we follow the Bible’s counsel to pray for “kings and all those who are in positions of authority,” especially when they are making decisions that could affect freedom of worship.—1 Timothy 2:1, 2,
We also respect the rights of others to make their own decisions in political matters. For example, we do not disrupt elections or interfere with those who choose to vote.
”Verily I say unto you, bugger the little children, for Jehovah doth seriously get off on that sort of thing”
–Sodomites Chapter 3 Verse 13
