I'm afraid not, Shanti. The mass of data on my broken hard drive was irretrievable. It was a bit of a disaster for me. I learned a big lesson. The new hard drive works fantastic, but I had to start from scratch to the point of having to recall the passwords for things, including my email addresses.

Apart from that, the sannyas book was a kind of labour of love in memory of Parmartha, who I discussed doing a book with while alive...and of course a big-up to some of the regular bloggers like yourself.

Currently, I am running at full capacity at a work-related level and I will be for the foreseeable future. I simply don't have the time for other projects that I have said goodbye to and the sannyas book is one of them. I just had to let it go.

There is still one paperback copy of the book for sale on Amazon, and there is also the K indle edition.

So you can add my comment. If you look hard enough again, I’m sure you can find the text on your hard drive.
A while back I recall you mentioning that you liked some of my recent comments and that you would be including them in the book.
I will get round to getting it at some point, tbh, it just wasn’t an interesting enough prospect for me, reading our old comments, I don’t read that many books.

Recently I have been reading former NSA/CIA whistleblower Edward Snowdon’s autobiography, ‘Permanent Record’. Interesting.

After he left the US and leaked thousands of classified NSA files, including thousands of Australian and British intelligence files to the Guardian newspaper in Hong Kong,he ended up stranded in Moscow airport.

Here’s a piece where he recalls being approached by officers from Russias Federal Security Service (FSB).

“ At the center of the table sat an older man in a diner suit than the others, the white of his hair shining like a halo of authority.

He cleared his throat and gave me, in decent English, what the CIA calls a cold pitch, which is basically an offer bŷ a foreign intelligence service that can be summarised as “come and work for us.” In return for cooperation, the foreigners dangle favors, which can be anything from stacks of cash to a get-out-of-jail-free card for pretty much anything from fraud to murder.
The catch, of course, is that foreigners always expect something of equal or better value in exchange. That clear and unambiguous transaction, however, is never how it starts. Come to think of it, it’s funny that it’s called a cold pitch, because the person making it always starts warm, with grins, levity, and words of sympathy.

I knew I had to cut him off. If you don’t cut off a foreign national intelligence officer right away, it might not matter whether you ultimately reject their offer, because they can destroy your reputation simply by leaking a recording of you considering it. So as the man apologised for inconveniencing us, I imagined the hidden devices recording us, and tried to choose my words carefully.”

Hi Shanti,

Coincidentally enough, last night I was at a singing group and gave my last copy of 'SN Best of'... to a sannyasin friend as a gift.

A few months back, I wanted to edit and reupload the manuscript but unfortunately, my hard drive broke and I lost the file. I wanted to do this because the book could be better but I just don't have the time for it just now because I am working on a new novel.

'Sagara' is another story. It is done and dusted. I altered the ending two months ago because I was advised by an editor to make a happier ending. I asked for a suggestion, he supplied a good one and I implemented it. I'm sure you would find it an enjoyable read, plenty of laughs and plenty of Osho stories, great jailbreak in Iran, hell bent and heaven sent.

I'm working on pure pulp fiction right now. Will only weigh 800 grams but it is the heaviest story I've ever worked on. Ok, back to work.

I haven’t yet got round to purchasing Lokesh’s collection, ‘the Best and Worst of Sannyasnews’. Just because right now I have limited reading time.

I noticed, when I checked out the preview of the book on Amazon, that this particular thread came up in the preview. Surely this interview with Amrito is worth including, the producers of 'Wild Wild Country' didn’t even bother contacting Osho’s doctor, which is odd, considering him being one of the main characters in the story.

Right around the time 'Wild Wild Country' was released, in 2018, and there was lots of interest in Osho in the media, this ‘Dean Carter’ character turned up and started writing on sannyasnews, while there were many more visitors to the site than usual.

His story about Osho being "let off" is completely bogus.

I also noticed that the comment has been changed and edited, from the original, as have several older comments on SN, as well as one of Parmartha’s replies to me dissapearing, that is something I have become aware of more recently.

Originally in his comment Dean Carter tried to make out that the Reagan government ‘let Osho off’, implying that they had evidence that he was involved in Sheela’s crimes, but decided to let him go anyway. If pigs could fly. And he originally wrote that the governments prosecuting attorneys in the case against Osho, Dave Frohnmayer and Robert Weaver, were "unaware" of this "deal", that is was somehow kept secret by the government!

Now that part of his comment has been changed, Frohnmayer and Weaver’s names have been removed, that was probably since FBI files have been more widely circulated around the internet, where they state that "no direct evidence exists" that Osho was involved in the crimes.

Osho’s lawyer Niren’s book has also been released, and it would be absurd to suggest that the government's prosecuting attorneys would not be made aware of any such deal. That is likely why the comment was changed.

There may be no sign of the editing in the comment log, yet there is certainly editing of people’s comment and even files, online books etc., that is happening, sometimes on the internet that is happening underneath without leaving a trace, and this has been happening to some of the comments on this site.

Anyhow, the story Dean Carter put on here is completely false.

Before Niren’s book came out, journalist Max Brecher interviewed several of the attorneys involved for his book ‘A Passage to America’, including state general of Oregon, Vic Atiyeh, and asked him for the evidence:

“I asked him, "Did you ever find any evidence that Rajneesh was directly implicated in all those crimes that he exposed publicly in his press conferences, and on television? Was there ever any evidence?"
"You mean the crimes themselves," he asked.
"Yes. Was there ever any evidence that implicated Rajneesh in Sheela's crimes?"
"No. No. You'd have to guess at it." Nevertheless, he said publicly that he believed Rajneesh could get a fair trial in Oregon.”
(Max Brecher's Inteview with Governor Atiyeh, ‘A Passage to America’, p391)

Sheela’s husband, Jayananda. also has said that there was "not a chance" that Osho knew about her crimes.

And out of a few of Sheela’s group who returned to be with Osho again in Pune Two, Ma Prem Patipada recalled, while sitting in Buddha Hall, Osho had asked her to apologise to him and to the commune for being part of Sheela’s criminal activities, pointing out that at no point did she come and tell him or anyone else what she was aware was going on. Patipada wrote in her book that she experienced a mind-blowing satori as Osho focused his energy on her in that discourse.

“I have asked myself a thousand times after leaving the Ranch, why didn’t I ever say anything? Why didn’t I try to stop what was going on? Why didn’t I try to send a message to Bhagwan and tell him what was happening? I never had an answer to these questions. Only a lot of pathetic excuses that I tried to hide behind.”
(Prem Patipada: ‘Forever is Not Long Enough’)

And after all, it was Osho who called a World Press Conference in September 1985 and had begun to expose the crimes that he had been informed of, and exposed the fact that Sheela had bugged the commune and his room, and he had been told that she had apparently made some tape recordings, some of which she had taken with her to Germany.

This was in the first press conference he gave after sannyasins who had been part of Sheela’s group began to inform him of things that had been going on, so he was fully aware of any conversations they had that had been recorded and was not concerned about anything that could be exposed or could have incriminated him. Of course, he would not have been aware of any possible manipulation of the conversations- on tape or on paper.

This World Press Conference can be listened to freely at the Oshoworld site:

https://oshoworld.com/press-conference-01-11/

This ‘Dean Carter’ looks very likely to me to be a character who used to post on SN as Jay C Pennie aka Prem Bubbie. He was banned by Dharmen, and then later posted again as ‘Babaslezvana’, and ‘Honeysuckle Rose’. He used to be accused of working for the CIA.

Anyhow, I’d thought I’d make that point here. There was a deal, but Osho was pushed into it, he was ready to fight the case but his people feared for his health in the jails and the government hinted they could prolong the case. The deal can be found in the field and did not involve whatever tapes Sheela had in her possession or the crimes that Sheela was charged with at the Ranch. Osho later wanted to sue the US government and then asked his American lawyer Niren to write a book about it.

There was a deal, but Osho was pushed into it, he was ready to fight the case but his people feared for his health in the jails and the government hinted they could prolong the case.

And apparently, it was a case of Sheela asking Osho what to do in a situation where the commune should come under attack, and his response, that it may be necessary to kill people to stay in Oregon, being manipulated, edited and used by Sheela to try to convince members of her crew to participate in the murder plot of Charles Turner.

Lokesh, you can put my comment in your book. I’m thinking about reading ‘Sagara’ by Luke Mitchell at some point.

Subhuti in this book jumps on that Netflix attempt and shares the other half of the story...It speaks about many of the fundamental things that most insiders know of course, more or less, but newbies will have never heard of.

Of course this photo fits better to that topic's discussion from 2018...Will it show on Caravanserai or somewhere else? (Slowly learning but still not familiar with this manyfolded web-board).

The too devotee doctor has never ever uttered a single time, "I have heard Osho saying..."

In my opinion, such disciples are utter assholes who speak in absolute terms.

Osho has spoken a story on similar lines, when blind people describe elephant through their touch.

As I remember, almost every year Osho has told time and again, never say, Master has said so, kind of arrogant and highly objective statements.

Osho as Einstein - utter crap!
