It’s still there as a sports club, although back then the-swami-on-the-phone indicated it would soon re-open under ‘Sannyas control’!

I think it did reopen as a sports club, but not as a Sannyas place! May even still be there.

I used to enjoy going to the Body Centre, it was like being a member of a fairly up-market club, without having to pay large membership fees – and it was conveniently located, a 15 mins. or so walk from home (the famous, in ‘certain circles’, Chalk Farm flat).

I was disappointed when it closed and I recall phoning the place and being assured it would be re-opening quite soon. However, as it was a sannyasin who was saying this I was rather sceptical. And rightly so….

Well, I came across that vid the other day, and I noticed a note underneath from whoever put it on youtube, that said “check out the shorter version”, but when I clicked the link it came up with a message that “the video has been removed by OIF”, and then I realised that I had seen the video before and that must have been the shorter version.

So OIF must have removed the first video from youtube, and then the creator of the video must have made a longer version which is now up there.

Name of place was ‘The Body Centre’, location Belsize Park.

Strange world, sannyasins that appeared like people working in the clerical professions – universally.

Sheela was there once and bought everyone, can you believe it, NYLON shorts from some Indian supplier in the East End…thank God it collapased shortly afterwards.

Too much of the ‘Shadow of the Dreamchild’ in your interpretation, Swamishanti, I feel and presume, although I know that any history/story-telling tells more about the author, his hidden or not so hidden ambitions (interpretations) than about anything happening (or having happened).

Otherwise, Swamishanti, I gratefully join Tan´s response on sharing the recaptured special vid with us, a compilation of gathered moments with quite more than a masterly Veena Player of Silence amidst the words.

And I join you, when you spoke about “odd” stuff that it has been erased by the OIF.

A photo album becomes alive for the people who have been present. How nowadays joining the stream people experience it, I have no clue about.
