As for the final two lines, since when has becoming “a better human being” necessarily denoted ‘enlightenment’? Respect would be a more appropriate response, wouldn’t it? Otherwise we’re just being lazy, self-satisfied, not seeing ourselves or others as they are, thus cheapening the concept and the process.

Good one (hehe) but irrelevant because what are the odds of me bumping into myself. Trust me that if I bump into you I will treat you as enlightened because to take sannyas means that you have seen something more than yourself and that hopefully that has made you into a better human being.
