I dont think that computer based lives are advisable, not much fun, really unhealthy both for body and mind. I can only imagine that the old phrase “get a life” could apply to some of our commentators. One cannot spend all ones’ life at a computer. There’s a lot more to life than that. As Dharmen says we do our best with the time we have, …[Read more]

Thanks Alok. I did not mention the new site. I went there and could see it had a function.
I dont like that Oshonews site cos it seems so snooty and almost snobbish. Also because it is not subject to criticism it is so self congratulatory.
It also has a lot of paid ads which supports it’s mediocrity.
Yes I was a newcomer once and quite a few…[Read more]

  • It may be a surprise to commentators here, but Osho was briefly a supporter of Gandhi and the Indian independence movement. Part of what he says here sounds like something from 1946/7 when biographers say he was most closely aligned to that. I dont buy the stuff about karma for the Brits just cos they [...]

    http://www.oshonews.com/

Yep, lots of middle brow articles of mediocre standard, but not a single concession to interactivity.
So what do those folk like Pennie, etc who often criticise SN say when they confront another news site who is too scared to even have a free…[Read more]

  • The mala, red clothes and the names….. they were like the cross to Jesus of Nazareth. Just fantastic publicity. Osho claimed to have reached most of the known world by 1980, he would never have done that without all of us guys between 1973 and 1980 showing up in orange in every western capital city [...]

  • Kavita you are right. Confused, vulnerable, self reflective, without hubris – good places for a first time disciple to be. But the problem was with Osho saying Yes to everyone that there were those who came with psychopathologies, for example Shiva and Sheela to name just two. They certainly were not confused and self reflective. [...]

  • Osho was open to all who came to him for sannyas. This was unlike the past when Masters felt free to refuse disciples with alacrity and choose only those they considered “ready”. Many ended up surrounding themselves with quite a small number of disciples with whom they worked intensely, as in the Sufi schools. Osho’s [...]

  • Great video Martin. Thanks for it, and do you know anything else about this guy, and which city he is in?
Great idea, and let’s hope it catches fire. Now was “Juan” a sannyasin??

  • Your parents choose your name, even if they are good parents, they are parents. You throw the whole societal beckoning by throwing away that name. So Osho did stage one. However – not stage two, for he gave us another name which in and of itself was societal – the society of sannyas, replacing one [...]

  • Being a casework counsellor by profession the paradox seems to be the confusion in the disciple’s mind. Clearly in terms of the role the Master plays in the cacophony of “unconscious” forces we all inherit, then there are very grave dangers for the disciple in replacing the poor parent by the best parent. To me [...]

  • Those people drawn to “organising” will never be free of mind. Organising involves ego and feeling one wants and can lead, etc. Osho, unlike some teachers, choose to have quite an “organised” and large business to do this. That was his choice, he pondered it for three days according to those around him at the [...]

  • Having read the Indian newspaper articles, and the Oshowork website, this could be a sort of provocation device. The characters who always criticise the present Resort management do want a fight, after which they hope to run the place themselves. The whole Court action could be simply to try and bring on such a fight. [...]

  • In his book “Life of Osho,” my old friend (now deceased) Prem Paritosh (Sam) has one chapter, Chapter Nine, called Shapeshifter. His early account from his days in the ashram circa 1975 allude to some similar experiences, though not out of the body. He describes, as he had quite close contact with Osho at the [...]

  • It’s a bit of a mix would you not say Lokesh? Being in a Buddhafield had one incredible advantage over the normal lives most of us had lived, and now still live in my case. I still work professionally though old now, and at least 20 times a day I interact with people, who maybe [...]

  • Alok I would hold it to be self-evident that when it became clear that Sheela and her gang had clearly goofed up in a big way and he became fully aware of it that was the point he began speaking. (Nov/Dec 1984). I do recall in 1981 he went on about us being ready to [...]

  • Accept what you say Jay overall. However this story is true. I was there. It can also be verified by the then Press Officer in Poona, Anand Subhuti, who was previously a UK parliamentary correspondent for the Birmingham Post.

  • A famous actress called Eva Renzi was unintentionally responsible for making Osho (Bhagwan) famous in Germany, and which cascaded so many Germans to come to the then Poona in the late seventies. She signed up for the Encounter group, got her face slapped by a Dutchman and chastised as a “Phony Bitch”. Upset at the [...]

  • Anyone heard what happened to this lawsuit? Swami Rajneesh sued the Goan Observer for defamatory and false allegations in their newspaper articles on May 3rd. The newspaper allegedly reported Rajneesh to SP and anti terrorism police to say that the swami was a drug trafficker and money launderer. They also claimed he was involved in [...]

I have never been to the Humaniversity, and never been to Osho Leela (UK), and dont think this is an accident! I have had many opportunities, but something always did not feel right.
I met Veeresh a few times informally in Pune one, and once in a cellar off the Tufnell Park Road when he was trying to turn people on to a new south American…[Read more]
