OshoVentures…. . …

Now this looks like a very odd use of Osho’s signature…

what do others think?

Now that could be a copyright issue….

This was bound to happen. How many such court cases will the OIF fight? This particular one is based in Dubai. I doubt any outside law can hinder their business.

  2. Parmartha says:

This looks like, on the face of it, a commercial company making use of Osho’s signature.
But India is a strange place…. and maybe someone from there can throw light on it.

This extra information will be helpful to create a psychological profile of one ambitious Jain behind this small-time venture with big global dreams.

Few people think to reach globally one needs an interesting website!

Whosoever controls Osho Foundation, to send such people legal notice is the basic work.

  4. Kavita says:

Ganesh Beedi, Mahavir General Stores, Nanak Dairy, Jesus Enterprises, Mohammed International Group, etc. Now Osho Ventures, Osho/OIF, after OIF on behalf of Osho taking all precautions has not been able to prevent this!

    • swamishanti says:

Also in UK there are many such examples, Krishna News, Mahavir books, especially on the main roads of London.

I think an Osho coal mine could be a good idea and could provide employment for sannyasins down the mines.

Fossil fuels are are bit dirty though – perhaps an Osho Solar farm would be a better gambit?

  5. alok says:

That’s why OIF wants trademark protection, to stop such misuse of Osho’s name. (It is a trademark matter, not copyright).

    • shantam prem says:

Alok, do you know the difference between killing intruder with a gun and killing your neighbours?

If disciples misuse Osho´s name than the master is responsible who initiated them?

If disciples in power don´t trust the disciples’ wisdom and common sense, it means power has created inflammation.

  6. Parmartha says:

This looks like an abuse of trademark to me.

I know these commercial idiots are based in Dubai, and sadly all sorts of commercial crap goes down there.

I do hope that OIF pursue this matter, though I don’t see anything after an internet search… better to do that than continue all this squabbling with other sannyasins?

    • shantam prem says:

I think the operative person of this small dubious venture with big name is based in India. Because some of Resort-based people go through this website time to time, they should feel even those who oppose them feel it is important to send legal notice to such fly-by-night operators.

Here is the name and the address:

  7. Dhanyam says:

Ibrahim in Berkley, California, has just published a book with the title ‘The Mustard Seed’. Will OIF sue?

    • shantam prem says:

Dhanyam, is this new edition of ‘The Mustard Seed’ available at Amazon or High Street bookstores? In such situation, OIF can sue for copyright violations and ask for hefty royalty, or issue legal notice to book stores for illegal trade practices.

Simple fact is, Osho Foundation has the copyrights and it should be so for protecting commercial interests.

    • Parmartha says:

A long way from Osho’s book! See below!!!

      The Mustard Seed Counseling
Experience God’s Empowering Presence in Biblical Counseling
      by Ibrahim Youssef, PhD

      Synopsis
“‘Mustard Seed Counselling’ is a systemic appraisal of biblical counselling; the author’s easy style of writing is encouraging to those who feel a calling to counsel. Many people within the Church are hurting and they are trying to make sense of what is happening to them. The answer is biblical counselling, working with the Holy Spirit to bring wholeness. The work ‘Mustard Seed Counselling’ will encourage those who feel the call to counsel and have a desire to study and check their relationship with God.”
(Richard Dunkley, Storehouse Pentecostal Church, Dorchester, UK)
“‘Mustard Seed Counselling’ is an interesting model of counselling.” (Allison Pople, United Church, Dorchester, UK)
“‘Mustard Seed Counselling’ is very close to evangelism. I could not easily distinguish between the two.” (Patricia)

      • shantam prem says:

        My God…What a joke!
He must be dragged to court for publishing Osho book though it is a free choice of every reader how to use the stuff.

Osho surely is a master of the masters. Many, many people will go on getting the kick-start to be tantra masters, yoga masters, or simply enlightened masters.

        Power of words is immense!

      • Prem says:

Osho took the expression “the mustard seed” from the Bible, from Jesus.

Osho took the name Osho from Japan, from Zen. In Zen, the master was called Osho – Osho Rinzai, Osho Rengetsu.

How the fuck can the OIF claim copyrights for things Osho borrowed from other people?

  8. swami anand anubodh says:

There seems to be a theme emerging where if the OIF pursue copyright infringement they are in the wrong and when it seems they have not they are also guilty.

How do you know that this mining company did not seek permission from the OIF to use Osho in the way they have?

(I emphasise ‘seek permission’, which none of the Osho DIY, have-a-go-heroes ever seem to do).

  9. swamishanti says:

Say someone manufactures a new car named the ‘OSHO’.
It could have winged doors like a Delorean.
If the model caught on and sold well, would this be unhelpful to his “work”?

  10. shantam prem says:

I have gone through the available information on the net. It seems Ibrahim Youssef PhD is doing his pastor work without stealing or getting influenced by Osho, therefore to criticise him won´t be justified at all.
