The great thing about being in the commune was, we didn’t have any time to waste chattering away to imaginary people. Osho gave us something to keep us busy (just like Gurdjieff’s famous hole-digging-and-filling), and encouraged us to be present in that doing.
Doing, and being, together with hundreds of other dedicated spirits was a powerful, unforgettable, experience. We may have thought we were busy manifesting a dream, but really what we were offered was an opportunity to witness that commune dream dissolve into illusion. Yes, it was our responsibility; it was our dream. For me, this was a lesson worthy of a master.
I’ll be busy mulling this one over all my life.

I have worked with people for years and they have repaid me very well. I TRUST YOU BECAUSE I CANNOT DISTRUST; so there is no burden on you — you can betray me, but you cannot hurt me. I have trusted you, not because of you, but because of me. And I am still there, the same.
To trust a person is possible in two ways: either because of his trustworthiness — then there is danger, there is risk — or because you enjoy trusting. The trustworthiness or unworthiness have no relevance.
Who am I to bother about all this? One day I was not here — the society was there, man was there, existence was there…. One day I will not be here, so just for a few days in between…. And existence has not given me any job that has to be done. Why should I be serious? I am simply playful.
I love to play; I played well. And people were good; as long as they could continue to be with me, they managed and continued — in difficulties, in troubles. When they found it was too much, they went on their own.”

You can betray me; there are people who have done that. You can do any kind of harm imaginable — and people have done that. You can go against me, you can tell lies about me; still I will not be disenchanted, because in the first place I have never expected anything from you.
I DON’T HAVE ANY EXPECTATION, ANY HOPE — I am just so blissful that I cannot contain it; I want to share it unconditionally. It is the conditions which create disappointment.

Love Plus Meditation
My Beloveds,
Love is another name for life, another name for existence, another name for god. Don’t condemn it, even if it exists on the lowest rung, because through condemnation you will not be able to transform it. Accept it as it is. Try to understand it. In that very understanding love starts changing: it starts going higher than lust. The more understanding grows, the higher love starts soaring. Love moves higher on the wings of understanding, on the wings of awareness, meditation.

Love plus meditation is equal to sannyas. Just make your love more and more meditative, wherever it is, and meditation will take it upwards. Meditation alone is without energy; love alone is without consciousness. They both need a co-operation, a deep co-operation.

Did you read Osho’s comment on democracy -Shantam? “NO interference in anybody’s life”. Now, you on the other hand want to interfere with everybody’s life, who doesn’t adhere to your rules, regulations and wishes!!! You outta be banned!!!

being curious, again I stumbled up a website run by Andrew Cohen “EnlightenNext” magazine…. an amazing collage of screw balls.. makes Shantam look sane… I found it while reading a post on the Community board section of SN, about the New Years Eve party being held in London…. I noticed Deepak Chopra posting on the magazine site, and just by chance saw Deepak being interviewed on CNN at about 3pm (N.Y. time)today. he was plugging his new book about politics and the world… I had to turn that dope off after a couple of minutes, the man has no fucking clue about anything… another creative tail-chaser!! With swanky eyeglasses!!
