I have just good memories of Pramada . I bet he would have a good laugh about the manner of his physical demise! A man who plays a cello with a grapefruit does not want tom die in an old folks home!

Wow! what a senseless waste…….of a lovely guy and a beautufully talented musician….a hay bale??!! christ you just never know what’s waiting, literally, around the next bend. As for osho the movie….Billy Connolly or Robin Williams ” men of gigantic proportions when it comes to funny and my goodness we need it.

Re Osho The Movie….

I believe Osho once said he did not want a movie to be made about him. But I do not know if this is the sort of thing that still stands.

In principle I do not see why a movie should not be made about Osho.

But I do not think the way Lakshen is going about it is particularly good.

First I do not think it is a particularly good idea to try and raise money for the movie from sannyasins. If you cannot raise money from commercial sources that probably shows there is no market for the movie.

Second I do not think Lakshen’s synopsis is very good. It is too complicated. Only people in the know will understand what is going on. Someone who does not know much about Osho or the history won’t understand what is going on.

Third….this is what Lakshen says about distribution “Distribution-Participation to Festivals- TV, Dvd, Home Video distribution, etc.” Note he does not include cinema chains in the list. What is the point in making a movie if you do not at least aspire for distribution through major cinema chains?

In England we have (or had) a subsidised film industry which keeps lots of directors in work making mediocre films which are not distributed widely. The films end up as DVDs sold cheaply in stores. If the director is lucky his film is shown at some obscure film festival. Lakshen’s “Osho the Movie” could easily go the same way.

In january 1989 I sat watching him play Cello duets in muswell Hill with Rahmat and others.
That was a blessing.

I reckon Billy could play anything. One thing is for sure he can play the guitar like ringing a bell.
