According to Neelam’s recent account, in 1989, before he finally stopped talking, Osho was actually open to talking on mystics from traditions other than Zen:

“It has been over two months since Osho last came out to be with us. My observation is that whenever He speaks to us, He seems more energised and rooted in His body. As He eats lunch in his dining area I express my concern and urge Him, “When are You coming to back to speak to us? Maybe no more Zen, some other book?” He nods an okay and tells me, “Go through the sutras of Vimalakirti Nirdesa and ask Narendra to go through the Brahma sutras by Badarayana from my library. Then we can see what to speak on. Okay?” I leave hopeful."

from ‘Seeing, Watching, Living With The Master’ and 'Being At Home’ by Ma Yoga Neelam.

I have limited reading time due to my eyes and have not read much of Neelam’s book, but look forward to what she has to share. From her devotional perspective and one very close to the Master.

I think I would agree with Neelam and apparently Anando who argued with Jayesh and Amrito that taking all of Osho’s pictures down from the place was a stupid and rather pointless idea.

Attempts to try to prevent a religion of Osho from forming by removing pictures of Osho from the Resort, and apparently devotional music, have backfired and produced a much larger group of sannyasins who want a more devotional approach.

But perhaps Osho has spread much more because of these developments and differences.

Klaus says, “Sam quotes Osho:
“Your growth is so slow that the world might be gone before you’re enlightened.””

One good tip, every day we experience many small moments of awakening. We are caught in thought, following a chain of associations, and at a certain point we say, hah, I was sunk in thought. Each time that happens you have experienced a small awakening, and you have the opportunity to be in touch with what it means to awaken.

It is not impossible to suddenly awaken, but don’t expect a divine thunderbolt. The experience is likely to be much more mundane, more an “ah, this” than a great shout. It just requires dedication, sincerity and insight.

Osho during his years of discoursing touched on many spiritual directions, I recall hearing in a discourse that it was all to show sannyasins what might resonate with them. For me it was after hearing Osho talk so much about small pieces of Buddhism, why not investigate it myself?

I think the Zen discourses were more to show many sannyasins that path, point it out to as many as would hear.

Two things remained from reading the a.m. book:
1.
Sam observed that once Osho realised that he might be dying soon he put all his efforts into the Zen lectures.

That is what fits the topic.

2.
Sam quotes Osho:
"Your growth is so slow that the world might be gone before you'r enlightened."
Well, then we might go on living somewhere else as 'disembodied spirits'. For instance, as colour- and shape-shifting electron storms as per the magnetism holding sway in some galaxy. Known only by our 'co-ordinates' like xJ16S 8N. Awaiting the next position where the cosmic law might impel us to.

Or something totally different might come about.

Later talks on Zen by Osho

I re-read the book by Sam - 'The Life of Osho' (Sannyas - London - 1997) in the last days as I had it handily stored on my smartphone as a pdf-file.

I first read it a few years ago. And it seems that quite a few things now register more clearly than before...

The book, imo,is a fine read regarding the writing style: analytical, quite personal, easy-going, detailed with regard to how the inner journey works - for him and probably everyone.

Sam describes the chronology from early Poona, Poona 1, Oregon, travels, Poona 2, demise of Osho.
He also digs into the counterculture(s) of the 60s-70s-80s and the attraction of Osho's teachings.

He describes the Eastern philosophies of 'Chakras', 'Tantra', 'Zen meditation' and Western 'Humanistic Psychologies; of Freud, Reich, Janov, Fried, Stan Grof, and 'Transcendence' and the evolution of personal development.

How Osho's meditations and devices (orange clothes) were fitting into this and were and still could be taking it further.

'Therapriests' hierarchy, Veeresh's independent example as compared to insider therapists like Teertha etc.

Some inference and speculation about how Osho got poisened and who collaborated; Vivek's (untimely) death.

Adaptation of the ashram to a (model) 'Resort' - and what the future could be of modern time personal meditation evolution.

I take it as a good read. The pdf is available if one searches for 'Sam Life of Osho pdf'.

!"!%3455üertuqt?&)"$%&!!! :::

I have this song in mind today:

"Put your hand in the hands of a man
who stills the water
Put your hand in the hands of a man
who calms the sea
Take a look at yourself
and you will look at others differently -
- Put your hand in the hands of a man
called Bhagwan Shree."

Lovely, at the very least! Cheers.
